What happens to the Roadster S?

Hi guys!! I visited the Alpina website yesterday and I noticed, that the Alpina Roadster S (based on the Z4) is no longer available. I really like this type of Z4 and so I want to know, if anyone of you have informations about a new Roadster S (based on the facelifted Z4)...

It was the best looking Z4 so far...

Re: What happens to the Roadster S?

The last time I heard anything about the Roadster S is when EVO magazine last tested it. They said the car was no longer in production because BMW will no longer supply Alpina with the specific engine (apparently it's 'emissions' related).

Re: What happens to the Roadster S?

The engine of the Roadster S is based upon the US Version of the E36 M3 engine. This engine doesn't meet the european emission standard "EU4", but only EU3. It's no more allowed to sell a car within the European Union without EU4. Because of that Alpina had to discontinue the Roadster S. There's no facelift Roadster S, I doubt they will offer one with the new B3 engine. (Next generation Z4 I guess).

Best regards, south
