When I worked for an MB dealer a year ago, I was able to glimpse at some market research data for the new W164 M-Class. 30% of M-Class buyers do take their SUV offroad.  | |

| Re: AMS: BMW X5 Quick Drive Don't forget that the X5's Project Director, Albert Biermann, has a background in chassis development and motorsport engineering. I don't exactly know the logic behind BMW's engineering decisions, but its reasonable to assume that Biermann was appointed to the X5 project because his background in motorsport or "race-track cars" might be compatible with the concept of the E70 X5, i.e to make a track-oriented SAV. |
