So of you probably know it but don't think about it that much but cars to actually get sound recorded for games and it looks like this when it all goes down. When they are tested they are inned pushed very hard, up to 8000-10 000rmp before they change gear. I don't have anything more to say, just enjoy the pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, craches are also recorded. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Centurion; 11-29-2005 at 11:36 AM. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Cars being sound recorded for TV/computer games. One great example would be the M5 in GT4. That car sounds more or less exactly the same as in real life. The most amazing thing is that it was on GT4 Prologue before the public ever had any clue what the car sounded like. That's how advanced games are these days. WHy they don't do those measurements in an acoustic lab, I don't know. The sound would be that much clearer. |

Most game developers are really dedicaded and the gmae industry is a billion dollar industry and the budget for some games exceeds 100 million dollars. I allways say that the picture is only half the experience and that good authentic sound reproduction is as important as good graphics. ![]() | Re: Cars being sound recorded for TV/computer games. Member Adam from M5board.com had his RUF taken by Polyphony for a few shots and recordings to be put in GT4. So ya theyre pretty advanced these days. |

Those crashes are funny, though. Now how long will it be before the companies make some standardised recordings to they don't have to do it over again each time, and share the costs? Or is that as likely as Mercedes and BMW platform sharing? ![]()

As for the cities, as far as I can see, there's: London, LA, NY, something else (can't remember) and Nurburgring. THAT's IT... as of now that is.
