Re: Going to Canada. Need Advice from my fellow Canadians!!!

Disclaimer: Any of the following is simply my opinion. I treat it as fact, but non-believers may not.

Hmmm...Niagara Falls is cool for about 30 seconds. Sure, the falls are neat, but you can only stand there for so long in the mist. They have a couple of casinos, now, if you're interested. And, they have no shortage of cheesy museums (Guinness Book of World Records, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, etc)...

Check it out to say you've been there, but I wouldn't stay long.

I grew up in Cambridge, which is about an hour away from the Falls. I lived in Toronto for about 8 years, until I moved to Ottawa, last year. My advice? Keep driving to Toronto. It's only another hour & a half. It's a city of nearly 3 million folks, so, it has a lot to offer.

If you're thinking of making the trek, let me know...I'll see if I can point you in the right direction, when you get there.

True. Although, the Ontario Provincial Police are tricky bastards with Lidar tripods. There are a couple of spots of which he'll need to be weary.

You can definitely check out - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. There should be some good scenic routes there. If you are into wine, there are quite a few winery there. Definitely recommend you have a meal at the Hillebrand Estates.

I haven't been to Niagara Falls in a long while, but, the casinos I heard are booming with a lot of things to see and do (not necessarily gambling).

Do watch out for the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police), they are very watchful w/ speeders these days.

If you are planning to check out Toronto as well, it's not a far drive. Place to visit is probably - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER in Downtown, There's actually a brewery ( - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER) near CN Tower that I was told is very interesting.
Then you have Bloor Street a little north of there. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER is one of the tourist attraction here (lots of nice shops, boutiques, restaurants...etc).

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER, - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER are all under renovation but still open for visits.

Other places like the - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER may be of interest to you as well.

Re: Going to Canada. Need Advice from my fellow Canadians!!!

Hi Alx. Toronto is a pretty decent city to visit. I live just outside Toronto. I only lived in Toronto, actually Scarborough, for a short time in the 1980s. Today, I work primarily in Toronto.

The new casino near the Falls is called Fallsview. There is also a new golf course and I played it earlier in the season. As Habitual Speeder pointed out, the Falls cease to be cool after 30 seconds.

If you are going into Toronto, there are a few roads that you can drive on (safely) to test your Aston. The 407 ETR is a toll road and you will be billed for using it, but there are fewer cars . . . wink, wink. The best stretch of road in Toronto is probably Rosedale Valley. It is below the Bloor Street Viaduct, which unfortunately was a suicide hot spot.

I don't know if you are a movie fan or not, but there is a Victorian town that appears in many Hollywood movies. Kev mentioned it already. It is actually the old Gooderham & Worts Distillery in Downtown Toronto. I would recommend visiting it. There are many art galleries, cafes and restaurant in there. It is quite nice in the evening.

If you have small children, you can take them to the indoor amusement park at - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. Casa Loma is another nice attraction.

I may have mixed up the restaurant of Hillebrand and Inniskillin. I know I went to one of them, it was a courtyard cafe.
