What's the appropriate age for...?

Just interested in what you guys/girl think is the appropriate age for various things.

- Learning about birds and bees
- Lose virginity
- Drinking, buying alcohol/tobacco
- Drive

IMO:
- Depends on the maturity of the individual but probobly around 7-8 years old.
- Depends also on the maturity of the individual. But around 15.
- 15-16.
- Hard one. Some are definitely mature enough to drive at the age of 16, while some are far from it, even if they passed the test. So around 17 I guess.

I'd like to hear your thoughts, maybe even on other things with age limit.

Re: What's the appropriate age for...?

1. 10-12
2. 18-20
3. 18(tobacco) 20( booze)
4. 18 Men.. 25 female.. Lol.. nah just joking..18 all around..

Reasons
1. 10-12 One should be a innocent child as far as possible..imo

2. 18-20 Cause to early is no good .. one needs to understand the deal..not just do it for the cuase of it.. and to late is no good either..some can end up having some issues

3. 18 is good for tobacco.. cause it wont make you loose your mind.. no matter how much you use it..plus at that age you should be able to decide if you want to ruin your life..
20 for booze cuase.. not only does it effect you..but if you cant handle it..you will end up effecting other ppl..

4. 18.. cause i dont think your ready before that..simple as that..some are..others arent..and agian with that they can put others in danger..

I agree with you what you said about it depending on the maturity of the individual. Generally though, I'd say 10 to 12 years of age.

Ohhh, probably the basics ( very basics) at 5 or 6. Kids are VERY smart nowadays and get a lot of info from media

- Lose virginity

Whenever you find the right person to lose it.

- Drinking, buying alcohol/tobacco

yikes! I was allowed to sip at a young age at the table with a good meal. Maybe parental discretion is best
Probably 18 to by alcohol and buy tobacco

- Drive

15-16 is ok with a licenced driver

Re: What's the appropriate age for...?

Well, here's what I think...

- Learning about birds and bees
Around 4 or 5. It's better for the children to learn the facts from their parents than all sorts of nonsense from their friends.

- Lose virginity
Depends entirely on the person. 16-20 should do for most people.

- Drinking, buying alcohol/tobacco
I do think that it is a good thing if the parents teach their child to drink responsibly. A glass of wine or something similar won't hurt... from 14 years up, I'd say. For actually getting properly drunk or buying the drinks yourself - 18. As for tobacco - I actually think the limit should be higher, 20 or so, and properly enforced too, given that tobacco is a highly addictive product and you need to be somewhat mature to realize what you're getting yourself into.

- Drive
I wouldn't let anyone under 18 drive in traffic. I used to think differently when I was around that age, though...

Re: What's the appropriate age for...?

We agree 99% i see. Only difference is concerning kids, but i'd agree with it. Kids learn about that stuff in Kindergarten already (my 4,5 yo daughter).

Re: What's the appropriate age for...?

Well, I can still remember some of the BS the other kids tried to get me to believe when I was about that age... and the sad truth is that there are kids 10 years older than that who still don't have a clue.

Re: What's the appropriate age for...?

- Learning about birds and bees

Any age when the person becomes sexually mature, on the onset of puberty. Differs from person to person.

- Lose virginity

Conservatism rules for me - when someone gets married only...

- Drinking, buying alcohol/tobacco

20? Yup.

- Drive

16!!
