Have you ever been in a car accident?

I heard and seen several stories from my friends and collegues.

Have any of you guys been envolved in a bad car accident?

How about a dumb fender bender?

I had a guy BACK into my CAR at a RED light! ( he was drunk)

nothing serious but still a pain...

Only one,

when I was about 10 ....a drunk driver crashed, head-on, into my dads car, I was sitting in the back.

It was pretty serious, the drunk guy suffered permanent brain damage.

I was in a minor accident a few months ago when my buddy changed lane without properly looking and rammed into a car. Nothing major but a busted side mirror.

Did you get hurt?

Screw the drunk guy!

Pardon me, I'm normally more tolerant, but I was badly hurt because of a drunk driver too

I wasn't hurt at all -- just a few cuts (from broken glass) and bruises. This was going back to the early/mid 1980s, the car didn't have airbags but the seatbelts definitely saved our lives ....I'm almost certain about that.

Two times in my whole life, 1st time my fault 100%, second time the road conditions. Wasn't hurt in any accident.

Once only. I hope it stays that way.

First time I was in my father's '96 Mitsubishi Pajero. My dad was driving and took a right turn - without checking his mirrors. Slammed right into a car that was overtaking us on the right-hand-side. No real serious damage, despite the high speeds (50 km/h+), but our Pajero had a big scratch along the passenger side and a lot of dents.

The only time was when I was about 13, and that was a really minor one as well. My father was driving. We were heading out to my grandparents' place, when we spotted a car at the side of the road with its hazards on. The car in front of us slowed down to see what's going on, and so did my father. It turned out that the car had hit a reindeer and that they didn't need any assistance. The car in front started accelerating, and so did my father, who was still looking at the car at the side and the dead reindeer... suddenly, the driver of the car in front hit his brakes and our car slammed right into the back of the trailer it was towing. Damage: One broken tail light and a bent drawbar.

Thank technology for seatbelts, airbags and crumple zones!

The brakes in my old Toyota failed one time,

so I was using the hand brake and "soft" objects like bushes, those parking thingys and finaly a fence to stop.

I was not hurt, but the side mirror got it.
