I don't see celebrity obsession as a bad thing... Necessarily. It's all about who we worship and how.

If one chooses to worships or admire Paris Hilton, dress like her and act like her and so on, yes, that is stupid. But one can still admire her of how well she turned disaster into great success. Music album, acting roles and money from every corner of the world. Most would've looked up a cave and hid there for the rest of their lives. No matter what she's achieved I still don't look up to her because there are other people who've ahcieved the same things in more honorable, harder or respectable ways.

IE, your knowledge about F1 is appreciated, but dude you're going too far, too far with it! Athletes and F1 drivers are one thing, but spoiled little b*****s and their pathetic and miserable life is a complete different story!!!

To be fair to IE, he brought F1 into the thread in response to my assertion that a top UK publicist thinks Hamy can earn £100 million easily. Again, I made that point because I feel it would be considered vulgar and obscene for a successful business executive to make that amount of money per year. If a boss of a stock exchange-listed bank or oil company made £100 million in compensation in one-year, numerous people would picket outside his office and demand he be fired and dumped on his arse for the vulgarity of his pay. However, it is more or less okay if a celebrity earns it and no one seems to mind. That simply is not logical.

Hammy as you say is a sensation, you'll agree i hope, he's actually something, gotta give the credit where it's due, and tell me is Paris or any of those any kind of a sensation and that it's worth...?

Actually, I think there is a place for Hamilton because he is a celebrity. This thread is about all celebrity and I don't differentiate between celebs with substance and those who are famous simply for being famous. Don't get me wrong, Tycoon, Hamilton is not down in the same league as the three biotches you listed. I never said that all celebrities were talentless scum like the bimbos. Hamy is talented and dedicated, but I just wish some of the hype would be put on hold until he wins. However, he is a celebrity. By the way, is that how you spell biotch in rap videos?

The point that I can't seem to get across, perhaps to my discredit, is that tax-exiled celebrities are rarely criticized for earning millions for doing little more than entertaining us. Corporations and their executives employing hundreds of thousands of people are vilified when they produce big profits and especially when they move their company offshore to reduce their tax burden. Corporations are vilified for essentially doing what celebs do, making money and trying to minimize their own taxes.

Look, Hamilton is doing something good, giving examples and maybe even motivate some people. He's getting $$$$$$$$ for it? Bravo, i have nothing against, even if we're talking about those hundreds of millions that you talk about, nor i have nothing against the FACT that my boss from Italy, owner of 47 ironworks in the whole world with 36.000 people employed, earns A MONTH probably a half of it.
