Post I just bought a Breitling Tourbillon.

"I just bought a Breitling Tourbillon" That's what I will say to my buddies the day I buy one, and that day ain't today. I hope you guys will ennjoy these pictures of some rather extraordinary watches.
I wonder when Rolex and Rolls Royce will jump into bed and launch a watch collection. I would be a perfect match like Bentley and Breitling.

Mulliner Tourbillon for Bentley
The Spirit of Exclusivity

Mulliner, the jewel in the crown of the Bentley factory in Crewe... Behind the closed doors of this prestigious workshop, a hundred or so craftsmen and technicians lavish the utmost care on fulfilling the most specific wishes of Bentley owners. Embodying a blend of technology and tradition, commissioning is taken to its ultimate conclusion.

This spirit of exclusivity has given rise to an extraordinary timepiece, the Mulliner Tourbillon chronograph. A rare and indeed extremely rare model, since only a few dozen will be made over the next few years, at a rate of two per month. While exclusivity comes at a price, it also brings its share of privileges, since each Mulliner Tourbillon is customized by its future owner. According to his personal preferences, he can choose the type of case – in platinum or in yellow, rose or white gold – the dial colour or the exact shade of the crocodile leather strap. Even the precious wood decoration on the back of the watch comes in a choice of six types of veneer.

his is not the only special feature of this mechanism: its “30-second” type chronograph mechanism is distinguished by its central hand revolving around the dial in half a minute instead of the usual 60 seconds; this apparently surprising configuration enables extremely precise read-off for the fractions of a second, in this case 1/6ths. It is also endowed with a 15-minute totalizer and a pointer-type date display.

* Breitling Caliber 18B with tourbillon regulating system.
* Hand-wound.
* 30-second chronograph function.
* Pointer-type date display.
* Chronometer-certified by the COSC.

The Flying B
The wings of renown

A Bentley is far more than a car, it is a work of art crafted with infinite concern for detail. Dedicated to the most prestigious of automobile marques, the latest newcomer to the Breitling for Bentley collection likewise asserts itself as a luxurious and sophisticated creation. First of all through its case, endowed with cambered rectangular lines reflecting the elegance of a coupé or cabriolet model. Also through its generous yet elegant dimensions establishing a powerful presence on the wrist,as well as its play on angles and curves.

The surprising nature of the Flying B stems not just from this rectangular design, the first “shaped” case in the Breitling for Bentley collection. It is also distinguished by its original display mode featuring a jumping hour mechanism in which the hour hand is replaced by a disc at 12 o'clock. Minutes are read off in a more conventional way by means of a single hand placed at the dial centre. Meanwhile, the seconds are shown on an off-centred subdial at 6 o'clock. Like all models in the Breitling for Bentley collection, the new Flying B takes to the road with an exceptional motorisation: selfwinding Breitling Caliber 28B, officially chronometer-certified by the COSC.

Breitling The Flying B

Breitling Calibre 28B with jumping hour mechanism.
Selfwinding, high-frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour), 38 jewels.
Officially chronometer-certified by the COSC.
Water-resistant to 100 metres (330 feet).
Dimensions: 38.5 x 57.3 mm

Sure you are into fine stuff, otherwise you would have bought a Skoda Octavia instead of a 5er.

Re: I just bought a Breitling Tourbillon.

I am into fine works of art, not the material aspect of showing off what I have.

I have always liked Breitling because of their aviation aspect of certain watches they may. I saw an ad in a magazine about John Travolta wearing one.

I would much rather prefer an Omega seamaster.

I think the Turbillion is a work of art, it is so well design and beautiful. On the other hand a seamaster is cheaper and much more subtle. Here is a nice picture for you of two seamasters with chronograph.

Re: I just bought a Breitling Tourbillon.

Luw, the planet ocean is a beauty. My personal favorite is the Bond edition. However, that doesn't mean that I do not like the other Omega's.

Wow! Thanks Luw for posting the pictures. Just love the design of these watches.

If I could have another watch it would probably be the one my father has but in a different color. Rolex Submariner (sea dweller).

Re: I just bought a Breitling Tourbillon.

I almost got fooled Luw, almost...

Breitling isn't my type of watch, I'd much prefer that Omega above. The Breitling's face is too complicated for my taste.

Mr Bond rocks a The Omega Seamaster Professional 300M. It is a very respected watch and hopefully I can afford a used one in 5 years or something.
