Omega Planet Ocean

Well, I just got off a 7 day cruise today--one of the many benefits of my job-- and I came back home with something really special.

Re: Omega Planet Ocean

Nice piece. Good that you choose something different than the over popular seamaster 300m.

Re: Omega Planet Ocean

I am truly in love with this watch. That picture does not do it justice. I will have to show you guys another picture when I take it. Thank you once again.

Re: Omega Planet Ocean

Beautiful watch!
It is an automatic movement I assume?

I love watches, but these kind are way too expensive for me at the moment. And my thing is the old 20's to 50's mechanical watches.

I actually have a 1920/1930 Jaeger Lecoultre, one of the first with a central second needle, an Omega, a Beaume&Mercier and a Longines, all three approximatively 1940's-1950's.

These are very simple models, without complications or anything, all with a mechanical mecanism, all made of gold (18 carats, and 14 for the Longines). Small, discreet, elegant, very pure watches.

None of them is water-proof...

Thank you. I surely did. However, we did have rough seas from 7-13ft high and it was rather uncomfortable. The weather itself messed up two visits. Nevertheless, having my Planet Ocean was a great deal for me. I have always wanted an Omega and I finally got it.

Hello Amaury,

You need to take a look at THIS thread ......Josh (Osnabrueck) is a big fan of vintage watches too.
