OK, I most certainly do not think the US or Israel had anything to do with the attacks - but in my wildest imagination I might just be able to believe they were expecting an attack. It is possible that they figured an attack on the World Trade Center would be enough for the American people to feel there was justification for, and give their support to, a war in Iraq. If this was the case (and that is a big IF) then I absolutely would expect there was a huge miscalculation about the scale of such a scenario in theory compared with what actually happened - I expect they would not have dreamed the entire complex would collapse - they probably expected it would just take out a few floors - that would have been enough to justify the "retaliation".

i dont know what to belive of this money hungry greedy american gov...they are capable of anything..
lets just say i wouldnt be surprised if something scandalous surfaces about the attacks in the coming 10-15 years

the gov will sitt only few years more.. and then what??..
i think they are investing in their feature.. in a very sick way..

i still can't believe how could an attack succeed in such an unbelievable way.

Hasn't it? They're controlling one hell of an oil resource and when Iraq had to be rebuilt there were mostly US contractors on site.

I doubt it was the biggest terrorist attack. America says they went to war with iraq partially to free the people from a dictatorship but in other countries much worse things are going on. Countries that are commiting genocide yet our governments dont do anything about that.

In the long run it will be. We should be running out of fuel in the next 20-30 years and as stocks dwindle prices will skyrocket and if america has control of it they will be ina very powerful position.

I think the sooner Bush is out the better. Having said that, whoever replaces him probably will not do things much differently anyway.....but America's whole international image is virtually in tatters.

It seems many of you are fervently anti-America/Europe and blame the [rich] west for all of the world's ills - I suggest you take a look at the leadership of the poorest and most war-torn countries in the world - much of Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia and South America have been run for decades by corrupt dictators or religious extremists who do nothing for their countries or their people except offer them a life of poverty, conflict, and misery.

Countries like India and China don't complain, moan, and blame America for the poverty in their countries - they are educating their citizens and building their economies by being productive. Apart from oil rich Arab countries who rely on their natural resources to keep their economies going, most middle eastern countries are almost completely unproductive (apart from Israel of course). Obviously this suits the extremists; a poor, desperate, and uneducated population is much easier to manipulate. However, I do clearly note the September 11 terrorists were educated and from relatively prosperous families - that is a strange irony.
