Heather Mills’ extraordinary rant after securing a $53 million divorce deal from estranged husband Paul McCartney apparently had nothing on her behaviour moments after the hearing ended.

The outspoken Mills reportedly doused McCartney’s lawyer Fiona Shackleton with water, deflating the high-profile advocate’s blonde bouffant.

"Usually she has this rather fly-away blonde hair," BBC reporter Sophie Hutchinson said to The Daily Mail. "But this afternoon … when they left, she's got this damp hair."

When asked if she could account for Ms Shackleton’s new look, Mills laughed it off.

"[Mills] said that Fiona Shackleton had been 'baptised in court', suggesting that perhaps she had had some water put on her head somehow," Hutchinson said.

A source has told The Sun it was Mills who tipped water over Ms Shackleton’s head.

"She didn’t throw it," the unnamed "witness" told the tabloid.

"It was cool, calm and collected. It trickled down Fiona’s neck."

"She waited until the hearing was over. The judge would have taken a very dim view of it if he’d seen it."

Outside court, Mills criticised Shackleton, accusing her of handling the case badly and of calling her names.

She said Shackleton, who also represented Prince Charles in his divorce from Princess Diana, "has called me many, many names before even meeting me when I was in a wheelchair”.

The settlement was a fifth of the sum Mills had sought but she still ended up with the equivalent of $1500 an hour for her four-year marriage to the former Beatle.

"I am so glad it is over. It is an incredible result in the end," Mills said.

"We are very, very pleased," she added. "I am so, so happy with it."

McCartney declined to comment.

McCartney, 65, married the former model and charity campaigner Mills, 40, in 2002 but they separated four years later, blaming media intrusion into their private lives. They have a daughter, Beatrice, aged four.

Mills, who sacked her lawyer and represented herself in court, urged would-be divorcees to do the same thing. "You can be a litigating person," she said. "You'd save yourself a fortune."

Justice Hugh Bennett, giving details of the settlement, said: "She sought an award of almost $269 million. Sir Paul proposed the wife should exit the marriage with assets of $34 million, inclusive of any lump sum award.

"The judgment decided that the husband should pay the wife a lump sum of $35.5 million, which together with her assets of $16.8 million means that she exits her marriage with total assets of $52.3 million."

The court ruled that the judgment be made public, but stayed publication pending Mills' appeal against it being made public.

Mills, speaking to a phalanx of reporters on the steps of London's High Court, said she was appealing "because the judgment involves private secure matters of my daughter ... everything about her is in there".

"I really hope now that me and my daughter can have a life and not be followed every single day," said Mills, who has constantly complained of harassment by paparazzi.

Asked if she now planned to move abroad, Mills said: "I can't leave England. I always wanted to keep my daughter near her father. Believe me, if I tried to go, he would have an injunction on me in a second."

The split was fought out under a remorseless media spotlight with McCartney, a founder of the world's most famous pop group, pitted against the outspoken Mills, target of lurid tales in the press about her colourful past.

She hit back, saying she was driven to the brink of suicide because the media branded her a "whore" and "gold-digger".

This is the aputee lady, right?

She is envolved with several animal welfare campaigns,

including the China dog and cat skin trade and unhumane treatment of farm pigs in UK

I wouldn't go so far as to call her evil, I would however put her more in the ranking of B#&^$!!

Yupp it's all over the news here. She's getting £24 pounds, what she initially wanted was £125. Paul McCartney is lucky that he got away relatively cheap on this one. In the end that's what you get for not signing a prenuptial agreement.

Didn't know she is involved in these organisations. It will be interesting to see if any of that $53 million AUD goes into any charity or welfare groups that she supports.

Even without prenuptial, I am still struggling to see how she can justify claiming that much money, it was only a 4 year marriage right?

Hey let's get it straight here about Ms Mills - this repulsive woman has been universally derided as a gold digger of the lowest calibre not only by the press but by the people who know her intimately including her first ex husband (and I do mean intimately as in biblically).
We here in England are so familiar with her lying and scheming ways for years - she ever appeared in a wheelchair to gain sympathy with her small snivelings about her physical problems in order to add weight to her claims for Sir Paul Macartneys money, but everyone knows she can not only walk, she can dance for gods sake!!! - (if you can her hilarious and robotic attempts dancing lol).
Heather Mills is simply an irrelevant piece of aged flotsam in a sea of human debris and rubbish floating alongside other non entities, 2nd and 3rd rate so called 'celebs' and in fact she is just a nasty, shrieking, spitting unidexter of no discernable talent or intellect.
That's not to say that Sir Paul is an angel. His ex PR lady once called him a plank because he was so utterly boring and as far from the cool Beatle he saw himself as. Heather also accused him of smoking spliff/blunts - but drugs are par for any music stars life these days and so what - is this so bad? No of course it's not! She also accused him of physically attacking her; who in thier right mind would not want to give this noisy screaming baggage a good slap from time to time?

Her roots should clearly show us all where she began her greedy journey of trying to gain a living by all means possible and included, nude modelling, call girl, liar, cheat and underhanded dealings with people whom she considered her social inferiors (and all accurately reported in the world press)

Listen peeps - Heather Mills is sooooo over - she is last centurys harpie and she has been rumbled by her constant temper and by her extreme outbursts of infantile quality. If she finds another husband (which I doubt), he better be prepared for her disgraceful reputation. She is only interested in the one thing that can bring her happiness and that she can truly love - MONEY (typical Capricorn tho)
Sir Paul is well rid of this damaged, pinched faced ogre for good!

Nasty attack on her, but I do agree with what you say, I just wonder why did the judge agree to give her that much $.
