Oscar winner Cotillard thinks US faked 9/11

Oscar winner Marion Cotillard is set for a massive popularity plunge in the US with the revelation that she believes the September 11 attacks were set up by the American government.

The French Best Actress winner also has serious doubts the 1969 moon landings ever happened.

Cotillard, who won the Oscar for her role in La Vie En Rose, made the comments on a French television program a year ago, but they were largely ignored until resurfacing on magazine website Marianne2 at the weekend.

"I think we’re lied to about a number of things," Cotillard said. "We see other towers of the same kind being hit by planes — do they [collapse]?"

"There was a tower, I believe it was in Spain, which burnt for 24 hours. It never collapsed. None of these towers collapsed. And there [on September 11] in a few minutes, the whole thing collapsed."

Cotillard, 32, described the towers as a "money-sucker" that would have been more costly to restore than to raze.

"To re-cable all that, to bring up-to-date all the technology, it was a lot more expensive than destroying them," she said.

The Paris-born actor also questioned NASA's moon landings, saying she didn’t believe all of what had been portrayed in the media.

"I saw plenty of documentaries on it, and I really wondered," Cotillard said.

"And in any case, I don't believe all they tell me, that's for sure."

Cotillard, a former advocate for Greenpeace, has long been outspoken on environmental causes but her views were not widely publicised before her Oscar win.

She's by far not the only US citizen which hold that opinion. There are various documentaries about the 9/11 which are worth watching and as obscene as it might sound, some of them have quite convincing evidence that the 9/11 might have been set up by the Us government. Obviously this is a very sensitive matter but I would recommend you to watch one of those documentaries and make up your own mind whether there is something more to it than what's on the surface.

I see where she's coming from. There are very convincing theories and evidence for everything she claims. But saying it the way she does is a statement of great ignorance.

I agree, she should not describe all that as fact.

I saw some interesting documents about these theory, and it is right that a significant number of towers burned without collapsing.

However, I also saw documents explaining this fact by the lack of amianta (an isolation material, don't know the english word, in French it is amiante). This material is extremely efficient against fire, but it is poisening so it was forbidden when the Twin Towers were build. I think one contained some, the other not. So without this amianta, the towers did not resist to the fire...

It is good not to believe all what a government says. However, it does not mean that you always should believe the contrary of what they say!

She's a good actress ...but this is flakey.

Why do these people continue to struggle with the obvious facts. A highjacked airliner flys into a large tower, the massive amount of fuel causes immense heat which drastically weakens the metal joins holding up the concrete floor, the metal joins finally give way and collapse onto the floor below which in turn collapses so the entire building concertinas.

The way the WTC was constructed, with the floors connected to the structure via steel joints, was the reason it collapsed ...and why some other buildings, which are constructed differently, have not.

I've seen Loose Change ...interesting "documentary" ...but made by people who are likely think gravity is a CIA conspiracy.

As for Cotillard and her opinion that 911 was some kind of demolition job

The mistake she did was publicly expression this opinion of hers. Big ass mistake, there are some opinions that are better left at home.

One part of the 911 conspiracy that I do find very interesting is the Pentagon attack.

I have read a lot about how it was not a plane that flew into the Pentagon ...and that no wreckage from a Boeing 757 was visible. Well, that is not correct, there was a lot of evidence that a 757 crashed into the Pentagon. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER is a link to a very good explanation and some pictures of debris at the Pentagon ..........but I guess the CIA could have planted it there

I guess I'm just not a conspiracy theorist. That is not to say that I entirely (and blindly) trust government organizations etc., but I do honestly believe that 911 was a genuine terrorist attack -- I mean, its not like Al Qaeda have ever said they didn't do it ....they have admitted they were behind it.

Although, I have read a conspiracy that Al Qaeda itself is an invention of the CIA.
