I thought I'd include a poll with this thread - given the chance; which of these 10 Canadian women would you choose?

Everybody knows that many of the hottest ladies in the world hail from Canada, with Shania Twain, Linda Evangelista and Nelly Furtado being the gals that immediately spring to mind when the Great White North is mentioned. But there’s a whole slew of female Canadian celebrities who have yet to settle down and start a family, so we thought we’d offer up a helping hand for those brave enough to actually approach one of these stunning women. And while some of these ladies have been connected to impossibly good-looking men, the lack of a ring on any of their fingers means that there’s always hope. Hey, your chances probably aren’t that great, but at least you’ll have a bit of a leg up on the competition.

#10 - Belinda Stronach



Though she remains an unknown entity outside of Canada, Belinda Stronach has certainly made waves within her homeland over the past several years. A businesswoman turned politician, Belinda’s overt beauty has made her a rarity within the world of politics and there’s consequently little doubt that the press has delighted in reporting on her extracurricular activities. Belinda, a divorcee twice over, has been connected to various well-known public figures, including deputy Conservative leader Peter MacKay ,and legendary Leafs player Tie Domi. She has also been at the centre of more than a few controversies, the most overt example being her relationship with a married NHL player back in the mid-‘90s .

#9 - Mia Kirshner



Mia Kirshner made her professional debut when she was barely in her teens, and viewers have been able to watch her blossom from a gawky adolescent into a beautiful woman. She cut her teeth on wholesome Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea and My Secret Identity, but Mia stunned her fans with a risqué turn as a teenaged stripper in 1994’s Exotica. In the years since, Mia has portrayed one sultry character after another -- including a deadly assassin on 24, a flirty high-schooler in Not Another Teen Movie, and a doomed starlet in 2006’s The Black Dahlia -- yet there’s little doubt that she’s best known for her work on the controversial Showtime series The L Word. There’s likewise been plenty of speculation revolving around Mia’s sexual orientation (she’s remained mum on rumors of her bisexuality), but until someone tells us otherwise, Mia will remain an object of our undying lust.

#8 - Emmanuelle Chriqui



Born in Montreal, Emmanuelle Chriqui has been ensconced in the acting world for well over 10 years. She’s appeared in more than three dozen movies and television shows, and has worked opposite familiar faces like Katherine Heigl (2000’s 100 Girls), Eliza Dushku (2003’s Wrong Turn) and Usher Raymond (2005’s In the Mix). Her exotic looks have made her an ideal target for the paparazzi, and in recent years, Emmanuelle has been spotted with such high-profile suitors as JC Chasez, Clifton Collins Jr. and former Backstreet Boy Howie D. Rumour has it that she has been spending time with an anonymous architect as of late, but it certainly wouldn’t surprise us if this was just a ploy to keep would-be paramours away.

Though she’s appeared in movies like 2001’s Snow White and 2004’s EuroTrip, Kristin Kreuk remains best known for her work as Lana Lang on the hit WB drama Smallville. As the object of a teenaged Clark Kent’s lust, Kristin has managed to burrow her way into the hearts of comic book geeks around the world. But, unlike her fictional alter ego, Kristin is a relative newcomer to the world of dating; thanks to her parents’ insistence that she not date or wear makeup until the age of 16, Kristin has said that she didn’t have a single serious boyfriend during her high school years. In recent years, Kristin has been linked with her Earthsea costar Mark Hildreth, and even Dancing with the Stars winner Apolo Anton Ohno, but rumour has it that she’s currently single and on the prowl.

Raised in Mississauga, Daria Werbowy has gained the reputation of one of the most recognizable supermodels in the world and she can now command up to $20,000 for a single runway appearance. She has posed for such esteemed clients as Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, and in 2006, Daria was named the face of Lancome’s latest fragrance, Hypnose. Daria’s preference for older men has become legendary among her fans; her first boyfriend, at the tender age of 16, was six years older than her, and she has since been linked with actor Josh Hartnett (who is five years her senior). But given that Josh has been spotted with beautiful actresses like Penelope Cruz as of late, it would seem as though Daria is back on the open market -- to which we can only say, “Woo hoo!”

Hailing from the small town of Kincardine, Ontario, Jessica Stam has quickly ascended the ranks of the modeling industry to become one of the most sought-after figures in the fashion world. Jessica has walked runways alongside such giants as Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, and she’s appeared in campaigns for labels like Christian Dior, Valentino and Gucci. And, as befits a model of her stature, Jessica has been spotted in various tabloids on the arm of several exceedingly quirky men. Her first celebrity encounter was with Malcolm Ford (Harrison’s son), which was followed by a short-lived relationship with Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis. Recently, Jessica has been linked to notorious disc jockey Adam Goldstein (better known as DJ AM), although -- given that he has been spotted frolicking on the beach with lovely ladies like Mandy Moore -- it would seem that Jessica is currently unattached.

There’s little doubt that Pamela Anderson has become one of the most notorious figures of her generation, thanks to a succession of highly publicized personal incidents (including not one, but two sex tape scandals). She cut her teeth in the world of modeling, but Pamela didn’t become the star she is today until she landed the iconic role of C.J. Parker on the international hit Baywatch. Pamela’s marriage to Motley Crue rocker Tommy Lee brought her to a whole new level of exposure, though their relationship imploded just a few short years later. She has since been connected to male model Marcus Schenkenberg and punk rocker Kid Rock; Pamela’s marriage to the latter didn’t even last six months, and she is currently single and on the prowl.

#3 - Evangeline Lilly



As one of the stars of the hit ABC drama Lost, Evangeline Lilly has secured herself a place in our cultural awareness. And given that the show requires her to appear in increasingly skimpy outfits, it’s little wonder that Evangeline has become one of the most notorious television sex symbols of her generation. But unlike some of her more flamboyant contemporaries, Evangeline has taken great pains to ensure that her private life is kept private. We do know, however, that she was once married to a professional hockey player named Murray Hone, and that she has recently been connected to her Lost costar Dominic Monaghan. Whether or not they’re still together is unknown; that Dominic’s character was killed in the recent season finale probably doesn’t bode well for their future, as long-distance relationships rarely work. Bottom line: Yes, you just may have a shot.

Born and raised in Ontario, Rachel McAdams started out her career by taking on memorable roles in films like 2002’s The Hot Chick and 2004’s Mean Girls. But it wasn’t until she starred opposite Ryan Gosling in 2004’s The Notebook that Rachel was dubbed the Next Big Thing by the media, and there’s little doubt that appearances in the box-office smashes Wedding Crashers and Red Eye (both released in ’05) cemented her star status. Rachel’s unmistakable chemistry with Ryan in The Notebook eventually carried over into real life as the pair started dating during the shoot and became a full-fledged Hollywood power couple shortly after. Though both actors have refused to comment on their relationship to the press, rumour has it that Rachel and Ryan have recently called it quits, which would make Rachel free as a bird.

And #1... No surprise here.

Elisha Cuthbert



Thanks to her roles in hit movies like The Girl Next Door and House of Wax -- not to mention her appearances as Kim Bauer in 24 -- Elisha Cuthbert has certainly established herself as one of Hollywood’s hottest young actresses. Though Elisha has worked opposite such hunky costars as Chad Michael Murray, Jared Padalecki and Shawn Ashmore, she’s managed to retain a surprisingly low profile in terms of her personal life and dating preferences. We do know, however, that Elisha spent over a year with actor Andrew Keegan before hooking up with Justin Timberlake’s best friend and personal assistant, Trace Ayala. The two even got engaged in 2004, but the relationship ended a year later for unknown reasons. Rumor has it that Elisha’s been seeing professional hockey player Sean Avery as of late, but hey, we don’t see a ring on her finger.

Emmanuelle Chriqui is so hot, I've have seen her in the three latest episodes of Entourage I have been watching the latest days. I'm glad Jessica Stam is also on the list, wohooo. I had no idea the mass even knew of her.
