Re: Slr 722

I was planning to create a new thread about this subject and was already typing some info about it. But then I saw this thread in all of the sudden.
I might as well post it here.

Official photo's of the 722 edition of the McLaren SLR.

Appearantly it's a package that you can tick on on your option list when you're buying an McLaren SLR. Not really a limited edition as I've thought at first.

Specifications:
Same V8 supercharged engine as the normal SLR.
Poweroutput is upgraded to 650 hp.
Acceleration is faster, 0-100 in 3,6 seconds.
Topspeed is 337 km/u.
Standard equipped with 19" rims.
Bodywork is lowerd by 10 mm.
Larger brakes.
Different diffuser and spoiler.
Carbonfiber in interior.

The "722 edition" package costs 32.840 euro as option.

...is a homage by Mercedes-Benz to the unforgettable victory won by the British racing legend Stirling Moss and his co-driver Denis Jenkinson in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722 (indicating a start time of 7.22 a.m.) at the Mille Miglia in 1955...The supercharged 5.5-litre V8 engine in the "722 Edition", which is hand-built in the AMG engine shop in Affalterbach...
This is actually built in AMG factory!

The interior is great done, I like it! Exterior is something totally different, it looks challenging, agressive but not very nice! Rims don't suit the car very good and front (carbon) spoiler looks like my friend put it on the car in the garage! But still, there is something in SLR...!

Re: Slr 722

I like the power and the chassis upgrades, but the numbers "722" are too big and look out of place as do the black wheels. I hope this version is available in other color schemes.
