| Re: 2008 Sl And it won't be in 2008 either. Mercedes will do the new C and E and CLK before the SL IMO. The above pic means nothing of course, its chop and a very bad one at that. M |

| Re: 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL Judging by the Autobild photoshop picture, aside of the headlights and the grille there isn't much difference in the bodylines and shape compared to the current model. Which is strange for a all-new Mercedes SL. Anyway as it is now I'm glad that it's a photoshop, somehow it doesn't look as quite as classy and timeless as it should be like all the generations SL-classes. It looks already dated and dull. And from what I can tell from the Mercedes' design direction, all future cars will have expressive design and the impression above certainly isn't expressive enough. Personally I hope that the new generation SL would look something like the picture below but without the Gullwing doors. Looks way more sophisticated, elegant and modern than the photoshop above. After decades I think it's now time to switch from the old school headlights to LED's or a combination with LED's like the Audi R8. Like the picture of the Gullwing below and unlike the SL impression above. I'm confident that Mercedes will do their best developing the new SL, as with the SL and the CL, it belongs to Mercedes' top of the range cars. And besides the SL has a reputation to keep up to so they better work for it! ![]() |
