| 2008 Skoda Fabia – Official ![]() Skoda had a little surprise for us this morning us they unleashed the first official pics of their 2008 Fabia hatch prior to its world premiere which will take place at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2007. And yes, it does look awfully similar with Suzuki’s Swift which in its turn borrowed its share of design elements from BMW’s MINI. Despite that little misdemeanour, we’ve got to hand it to the Skoda folks for designing a very nice looking supermini. Larger than the current model (external measurements: 3992 mm x 1642 mm x 1498 mm) the new Fabia boasts a boot capacity of 300 litres, and, when the rear seats are folded down, it increases to 1163 litres. Although there are no interior images to this point, I’d place a bet that the dashboard will come from the Roomster MPV -see pic bellow. A total of seven engines will be available fort he new Fabia – four petrol and three diesel engines. * Petrol Engines / Diesel Engines: * 1.2 HTP/44 kW - 1.4 TDI PD/51 kW * 1.2 12V HTP/51 kW - 1.4 TDI PD/59 kW (also with DPF) * 1.4 16V/63 kW - 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW (also with DPF) * 1.6 16V/77 kW (also with automatic transmission) ![]() ![]() Last edited by phaeton; 12-11-2006 at 04:23 PM. | Re: 2008 Skoda Fabia – Official I think its lost its desirability in design stakes it looks to much like the current Suzuki Swift IMO. Interiors beautiful though VAG still do the best in interiors ![]() Good car overall though looking forward to next Polo with new diesel engines ![]() |

| Re: 2008 Skoda Fabia – Official I think European readers may agree with me that Fabia should have been exactly like the Joyster concept which was more to my liking. More on Skoda's Joyster concept http://www.germancarzone.com/showthread.php?t=6763 |
