| SEAT Leon, Car of the Year in Greece. ![]() The SEAT Leon, Car of the Year in Greece The SEAT Leon just could not say farewell to 2006 without adding two more prizes to its already long list of accolades. This time the good news comes from Greece, where the brand’s compact car has been awarded two prestigious prizes. On the one hand, it has been awarded the highest possible points in the ‘Car of 2007’ event. This prize is being given for the first time, and has been awarded by a jury of 27 Greek motoring writers. After the first round of votes, the ten finalists went through to the last phase where each vehicle is put through a thorough test on the Serres circuit. After the test, the SEAT Leσn had a 78-point lead over rivals like the Opel Corsa (65 points), the Ford Focus S-Max (56 points) and the Peugeot 207 (54 points),to name but a few. Additionally, the SEAT Leσn also came up as winner of the ‘Hellenic Car of the Year 2007’. In this case (again it is the first time the award has been made) the vote for the winner is carried out amongst the seven main Greek motoring magazines: 4Wheels, Drive, Car&Driver, Autocar, Evo, Car and TopGear. With its 39 points, the SEAT Leσn was a clear winner over the Peugeot 207 (24 points) and the Ford Focus S-Max (22 points). These prizes should be added to the others already achieved by the Leσn throughout 2006.The most noteworthy are – Diesel Car of the Year in Scotland, for the 170 hp 2.0 TDI FR finish, and ‘Auto 1’ in Spain, awarded by the ‘Auto Bild’ magazine. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |

| Re: SEAT Leon, Car of the Year in Greece. Good for SEAT! While I'm not holding my breath for it to happen anytime soon, if ever, I wish they'd sell cars in North America... |
