Lately I have noticed that there seem to be mixed emotions concerning the design of the the new S therefore I want to find out what you guys think about the design of the latest S 500s. Which one was designed best?

When I first saw the new S-class on picures I said it was the best looking S-class ever. You also know that I didnt like the old S-class either. Now when I seen both in real-life, the old and new in black colour. I think the old S-class look far better than the new one.

So my vote goes to W220

Well the W220 is definitely the "cleaner" of the two as far as design, but I haven't seen the W221 in person yet so the jury is still out for me. Those wheel arches are the only thing that bothers me in pics.

w220.... wheres the poll? im not into the direction MB is taking personally, especially regarding their exteriors.

The W220 is still very pretty, but ultimately it is now dated by the new S and the competition. I'm also a sucker for the latest and greatest so I pick the w221. I'm yet to see it in person, but in print I have no problems with the way it looks apart from a few awkward photographs. I have much faith in person its going to be excellent.

I feel the A8 is already starting to look dated. As i'ts so similar to the other audi designs, anything fresher on the new Audi's will immediately age the A8.

I never liked the old S classes, so the new one is a welcomed improvement I guess?! Then again even though its improvement I would never buy one. I would prefer an S8 over an S500 any day.

Although I think that the W220 will age better (NevadaJack's car looks simply amazing, especially with those AMG wheels), the W221 is an improvement because so far, the critics are saying that the interior is flawless. I like the car, but only with the AMG package. So W221, but not by much.

I agree, It is getting very old and tiresome, but brand bashing has been very prevalent these last few weeks, particularly for MB. So just stating what I would think would be a pretty obvious outcome of such a poll, and there is no need for it.

A thread like this is much more conducive to productive discussion. And in the interest of this, I have edited my previous post. I apologise.

Sorry if I came off as grumpy, lots of exams coming up.
I will be the first person to say that yes I am a BMW fan. But I also love Audi and Benz (yes I said love). However, we have to stop with being in one camp and just throwing rocks at each other. This thread is much more meaningful because there isn't any of that yet.
