You say that. Hundrends of people that participated in th JD Power survey say that A8 is better...

The thing that JD fails to mention is that this data represents 1 disgruntled owner who didn't like the size of the cupholder and responded to their survey...can anyone dispute my premise? No, because the data doesn't mean S***.

I own the car and I can truthfully say it is the best car that I have ever owned...and as someone has already stated...there has not been one complaint on this car on the forums. Every review by professionals and media has stated this is the best luxury car in the world.

JD Powers can publish all the S*** they want to and continue to create the image of the Consumer expert so they can make their millions. But I know what the new S is all about and could not be happier with this car. You can believe JD Powers or you can believe someone who has driven the brand for 30 years. Do all the compairing you want but when it comes to what car is the best in the industry right now...it is the S550 sedan

The JP Powers methodology seems to be really weird, especially recently.
BMW sored poorly overall, but on defects was tied with Toyota in the 3rd place.
And MINI scored poorly because of cupholders.

The W221 is the best car in its class, and even if some people don't like the COMMAND or cupholders this still doesn't stop it from reigning supreme (until the next 7er comes along

Their methodology is simply how can we bilk the system for more bucks..

We will wait and see what the new 7er comes up with...

BTW...here is the url for a Tutorial on the COMAND in the new S...very well done and really shows how well thought out the logic is in it's design.

They can charge more because you get more than just options checked in boxes... it is the whole package that demands the extra dollars...the intangibles that make it worth extra dollars...the reputation of the brand that makes it worth the extra dollars...etc, etc, etc....

You're going to far now, we all know MB was "influenced" by the 7er (especially when it comes to the interior).
