Why hasn't MB offered them on top models such as the S600 or the E55 AMG?

Cars like S600 and 65 AMG models are already very heavy due to their engines displacement, so adding more weight with 4matic drive would cause even bigger fuel consupmtion and wieght. That's why i guess.

I remember reading that with the W220 there was not enough room for the 4matic system in the V12 versions, don't know if that is the case with the W221.
