The journalists said thay made it over this hill with the S550 4Matic even though the bottom was scraped. This car is incredible!

The massive cruise ship was seen on an ocean of snow! Wow I must say that thing managed very well.

I love the new S class. What are they going to come up with next?

Nice that the S-class can handle snow in such a truck like fashion, then again who is crazy enough to drive an 90k car around in the snow.

Well shoot, sometimes you just don't have a choice. I remember several occasions in Germany when I wished AWD could help me out; especially when there's fresh snow on the road.

lol me to..i got stuck with my W220 in hills during winter time.. we in sweden could appriciate 4matic.. but then again i wouldnt drive my W221 in the winter due to the salt on the roads... so i guess RWD works well for me

Around here, quite a few people. People only lock up their sports cars for the winter (although I did see a 911 yesterday) but expect their luxury cars to be usable year round. Heck, I've even seen a Maybach driving down a snowy road.

Lovely review. Most owners probably wouldn't take their 90K S-Class "offroad", but 4Matic is useful to those who live in a snowy and icy region.

I wonder if 4matic will be offered on upcoming 600's and AMG models.
Why hasn't MB offered them on top models such as the S600 or the E55 AMG?
