Or someone who drives a lot and needs the mileage offered by the S220 CDI. I still think this is a bit low. The S320 CDI is fuel efficient enough. They should combine the 3.0 V6 CDI with an electric engine to make a "proper" hybrid S-Class.

You may not be comparing apples to apples here. The motocycle's motor is petrol, and very high revving.

Despite this, however, 6.6L/100kms is still an exceptional figure, and possibly a bit too optimistic. When I drove a 200D 1992 124 E Class, the best observed economy was 5L/100km, but the car was much lighter. The S220 is still bound to surpass 4300 pounds.

My bad, I dont know what was I thinking... I thought youo were talking about a fast bike, shows how much I know about either bikes or suzuki cars in your market.

Is this engine petrol or diesel? That has a lot to do with the volume of fuel being consumed.

First of all, 204hp is well enough for most people. It's not even too far from todays 320 CDI and it's hp's!!

What people think about the S (or even MB) is not performance. It's comfort and high-tech. This car is all about it.

More hybrid news. Besides the S250 Bluetec concept Mercedes might show an updated version of the S350 Direct Hybrid, which was also first shown two years ago at the IAA. Here's an Autocar blurb:
