Not sure if these had been posted before, but they reveal some pretty good details:

Well I haven't seen those pictures before Marcus ...thanks for posting them

It looks like a truck in it's camouflage ...it's not going to be the prettiest convertible ever but it is sure going to be an amazing car. I can't wait to see one on the road.

Well it was either Bentley or Rolls that accused the other of making the fastest, nicest trucks in the world...lol. I think Rolls said that about Bentley though. Without a doubt this will be the ultimate luxury convertible bar none. Once this and the 101EX Coupe go into production (I wonder what name they'll use?) Rolls will have finally realized their 1000 sales a year goal, quite easily probably. Well if they do go overboard on the price. I suspect this Corniche will cost something like 400,000 USD!

Re: 2008 Rolls-Royce Convertible

I believe it was Ettore Bugatti who labeled Bentley as "the fastest trucks in Europe".

I think it was more like "the fastest lorry in the world", after Bentley's truck-ish racers embaraced Bugatti and the rest, MB included, at the 24 H of LeMans.

That is true Marcus .....at least until Maybach finally get their act together .....everything seems to have gone very quiet at MM ....I bet they are working on something .....no doubt it will be amazing -- I can't wait ...I just wish I could afford such a car

Truthfully I don't think DCX has a clue as to where to take Maybach. A cheaper sedan clearly isn't the answer, but that is what the current internet buzz says.

It has to hurt when you've put so much effort into building arguably the finest sedans on earth only for the monied up to not to buy them!

I would feel more sorry for them if the whole Maybach project wasn't such a self-indulgent and cynical attempt by DCX to outdo BMW when they acquired Rolls-Royce. The whole Maybach concept has relied excessively on marketing and a fair degree of good old fashioned snobbery -- the whole thing is a fragile illusion of elitism. They might have convinced the Paris Hiltons and Simon Cowells of this world (although I heard he traded his one in)....but we, as genuine Mercedes-Benz fans, can see through the hype and pretense. Even if the 57S is a fantastic car, does it not embody just about everything the S65 should be anyway?

Re: 2008 Rolls-Royce Convertible

True. I wonder what they're going to do because Rolls Royce is going to be on a roll once this convertible, that 101EX Coupe and the cheaper sedan hit the market.
