I can't wait to get this issue and i have no doubts in my mind that the R8 will get 5 out of 5 (the RS4 did afterall)

I doubt that it will get a 5/5. The weight incombination with the relativerly slow acceleration can't really get the car a top score. But it is hot though.

I admit the R8 is a heavy vehicle, but i have a feeling after reading EVO's review of the B7 RS4 the R8 will not lack acceleration at all and if they said the RS4 with over 1600kg of weight is fast i'd say the R8 with under 1600kg and the same engine will be fast. Nor do i believe it will be mushy or slow in it's actions.

We'll have to wait and see what they say

The RS4 and R8 are different cars. 420hp is quite alot of power for a sedan like the RS4, C55 and Lexus IS. While 420hp isn't that much for a quite heavy sports car like the R8. We are talking 515hp Z06, quick and light weight GT3, Gallardo and F430. Those are the cars which the R8 will be compared with when EVO set the score. The R8 is an under dog and has the odds against it therefor I having difficulties with picturing it getting a perfect 5.

I don't deny it, they are very different vehicles. I understand what you're saying though, however i feel inclined to compare the R8 to the 997 Carrera S, V8 Vantage and Wiesmann GT. I always thought of the R8 in that league, even when EVO previewed the LeMans Quattro last year Audi officials said they were aiming for a 911 type sports coupe. I would agree against the small supercar league (F430, Gallardo, KZ1, GT3, Turbo, Z06, Ford GT) the R8 would be lacking the acceleration of those monsters. I suppose it depends on what category Audi would like to market the R8 to. It's price is over 100,000 Euro's would aim it over the C6 Z06, but then again the V8 Vantage is in that 100,000 Euro section too and i think we can all agree it doesn't have the performance of a Corvette C6 Z06.

In my opinion, the R8 is in the 997 Carrera S, V8 Vantage, Wiesmann GT category. Anyone else with me?
