I'm not sure that's actually THE Rolling Stones' R-class from Mercedes.
Decals and rims aren't stock and there's also decal with something with motorsport.com on it.
Definately not Mercedes kind of style by modifying their cars.

I think it shows how intense the competition is in every market sector. In this case MB having identified a market sector which at least I myself would not have thought of when thinking about buying cars.
Since the Rolling Stones have managed to win a cross generational following unlike any other R&R band, it is still interesting that MB thinks that they could sell cars by linking one of their models to the band. I would have to think that if this works, the customers would be by and large from the original hard-core fanbase from the sixties. When attending their latest concert in Madison Square Garden, I did notice a huge gathering around aN R-class car at the arena.

Re: Rolling Stones R class from LA auto show.

Come on guys, whey are talking about this? It was a promotional vehicles just like the bat-out-hell C-Class hatch that made the autoshow rounds a few years back. Mercedes doesn't sell a special edition R beside the Saks Fifth Avenue model, which is much more tame.
