Porsche 998

Just a sketch of how new 911 could look like! I don't think it's official from Porsche!

No way. That's just too radical for Porsche.

Well radical is what's hotest right now. There is nothing wrong with the drawing except for the exhaust pipes. The 911 is facing some really tough competition these days and in a few years the 911 sales might be limping if the Porsche design department doesn't hit the market with attention-whore-like 911s.

haha. Your probably right though. We may see some more radical designs from porsche-we'll see how that sits with porsche enthusiasts....

Yes radical might be hot, and I like the sketch, but:
1. this probably isn't from Porsche
2. real life always difers fron the to fantastical sketches
3. the 911 is sort of an anti radical car.

Very true. The hallmark of the 911 is actually its clean and unprovoking design but the automotive scene has changed and there are many manufacturers who are trying to slice a pice of the 911 customers.

Enemy number 1: Z06
Thundering performance at almost 60% of the price of a 911TT. Despite that the 911TT is still selling like butter world wide.

Enemy number 2: Audi R8
Futuristic design with adequate power, at a fair price. As a matter of fact the R8 cost just lisghtly more then the 911C4S and just about 10000 euro more then the 911C4. Looking at the 911 four wheel drive models and the R8 is it not that hard to figure out which one most people would buy. With that being said the 911C4 and C4S sales figure will be quite low next year compared with the previous years.

Enemy number 3: BMW M3

With around 414hp the car won't be a joke. It will be fast, able to carry four adults and wil handle like no other bimmer. The car is expected to cost around around 600-700k(?) which is the same price region as the Cayman and even lower then the base 911.

What Porsche need to do is give all Porsche cars across the range a power upgrade or give a porsche 998 which is slick as ever but with an evolutionary design.

Re: Porsche 998

Enemy no.4: Cayman S
It's really that good, and easy to use in everyday life, like the curent Carrera/S, as opposed to the more hardcore/raw and in someways elitist Z4 M Coupe.

Enemy no.5: Z4 M Coupe
Old school thrill, for those who can't/won't buy the too expensive purists
GT3 RS and GT2.

It will be that much, but only if you're paying in Swedish kronor.
