Bizarre horsepower shootout waged on Australian track

Yesterday's Aussie audience at the Victoria Derby at Mooney Valley witnessed an unusual horsepower battle-- I Am Sam, a 3-year-old gelding, versus a 2004/2005 Porsche Carrera Cup 911 driven by racer Dean Grant.

Part of a Hankook Tires promotional event, Porsche pilot Grant cropped his way to the win, no surprise given jockey Andrew McCarthy was saddled with but a single horsepower drivetrain.

Lol. I beleive it would take 1001 horses to compete against the Veyron.

2002 to be exact
the man who calculated horsepower (james watt if my memory doesn't fail) calculated how much weight a horse can lift one meter in one second, and then double it up to establish what we call a horspower,
so 1bhp=2 living horses

Interesting... Thanks Victor...!!

So now the obvious question must be asked... What is the weight difference between a Bugatti Veyron and 2002 horses..?? ..coz you know, it's all about power-to-weight ratio.
