When did your story begin?

I have been thnking about that it would be very cool to find out when you started to be a fan of the mark you today adore.

My Audi story goes back to 1997. First when I was a little boy, I always thought that Mercedes was the best one, and then in my younger teen years I had the BMW M3 as a dream car. But then, one winter day, when my friends dad came to pick us up from the training in their new car, an Audi A4 1.8 it was love at first sight. And oh how fast it was!! (compared to our Toyota Corolla 1.6 -87 , the A4 1.8 was a rocket ).
I was so stunned by everything in that car...the quality...everything. I was 16 years old then. Since then, I always wanted a car like that. ANd I started to look into the Audi models more and more and learning about them. At the age of 20, I had worked for some years and I finally got my money to buy a brand new Audi A4 and so I did.... And over the last years Audi has really improoved their status and I love following their history and devolopment. And that's why I stand here today...being an Audiholic...

It will be interesting to hear your stories.

Hey Audiholic, i've already got a story ready but i want to ask a question!

The paragraph i wrote for the Zonda explains how my love came to be and why i love it today. Does that count?

Re: When did your story begin?

16 years old I bought a 93 Audi 90 S, loved that car with its big powerful V6 in small car mmhmm . The rest is history.

I sold that 90 and purchased a 01 A4 (with the help of insurance) last year.

Sorry

I'll post it and see what you think, i hope it qualifies

My love of the Zonda was created in 2003 when i first saw Top Gear's review of the vehicle, previously my favourite vehicle had been the Murcielago but when i saw this i was shocked. It was a couple of months before i saw the Top Gear video is when i first layed my eyes on the Zonda, i remember thinking, "this is an interesting design, who the hells put four exhaust pipes in a circle?"

As i read on from reviews to sites i really respected the car's jet fighter design and the general company philosophy. To many a car is simply a car, but the Zonda is on another level in my mind. As i read on about the history of the Zonda i learned Horacio Pagani. I saw that he was a brilliant man, achieving his first job at Lamborghini in his mid twenty's. Horacio Pagani didn't create the Zonda as a money maker, he did it for Juan Manuel Fangio and that alone gives the car special grounds. I think what impresses most is how civilized the Zonda actually is; as AutoCar said the Zonda isn't about power, it's how you use the power and Pagani's supercar does this fantastically well. It's not a rough drive either, Pagani doesn't believe in "an engine with wheels", his vehicles had too be comfortable, well built, ergonomically designed and lastly easy to drive. The design of the Zonda had to be original but follow the traits of a Mercedes Group C race car, the end result today from the Zonda S to the Zonda F is startling. No car looks as good in my opinion; it's one of the craziest designs of the century. The interior couldn't be parts bin either; that's why most of the parts in the interior of the Zonda are specially built for the car. The detailing touches are on another level: wooden steering; shift lights; toggle switches; leather strap glove box. The Zonda shares all of those traits and we haven't even gotten to the performance. Mr. Pagani was able to rely on Mercedes-Benz for a V12 engine and in 2000 AMG game the 6.0 V12 a work over. Originally 7.0 litres AMG brought it to 7.3 and raised the redline to 7,000. It's already been quoted as one of the best engine's ever built, smooth and creamy but instant raw power on demand. It's such a spectacular engine too, big displacement, big horsepower and massive torque. I like the fact that the Zonda F is rather old fashioned too, while the body comprises of carbon fibre and the chassis from steel and carbon fibre the Zonda has no airbags. No specially designed 12 setting Limited Slip, no launch control and a simple 6 speed Manual transmission made by CIMA. It has what the driver needs, TC, AC, stereo and big Ceramic brakes.

So, that is how i came to love the Zonda

Re: When did your story begin?

I don’t want to start too far back… but as a kid, I never had a teddy bear or a pillow that I loved and couldn't part with… I myself had a blue Matchbox VW Beetle! I couldn’t sleep if I didn’t have that thing in my hands!

When I was 5 we moved from Poland to Germany where we lived to for a few years. At that point, I drove my parents insane, because all I would do when venturing into the city was naming every single car I saw. I am told that I could identify most cars just by looking at pictures showing very little detail, like only headlights for instance.

So obviously, cars were in my blood from far long ago.

Combine my love for cars, living in Germany and having a father that likes German cars… not much surprise you can find me here!

Since the age of 19, I’ve owned two VWs and now my second BMW.
