lOl Osna, I`ve said it before. I still believe the Veyron is very wasteful engineering when you look at it from an engineering standpoint. Then again thats probably what the Veyron stands for. There are much more efficient ways to squeeze out that much power and exotic design from a more logically designed package with the hi-end technology presented in the automotive world.

![]() | Re: Veyron will try to break the record? Well, GTA, I'm not sure that's true. Whatever you say about VW, I don't think they're exactly incompetent. They threw billions of dollars (or insert your own favourite incomprehensible figure) at it, and it took them a long time to get it right in the end anyway. To get that sort of speed, that sort of luxury and that sort of accessibility in one package is no mean feat. The Veyron is a marvel of brute force engineering. |

Sure, you could spend a ten grand and make an S-Klasse really damn fast. But would it have the reliability, finish and raw proficiency of an AMG? Hell no. This is why the Veyron is so damn special. The idea is born from the same mentality that gave us crazy cars like the M5 and S65. That is - can we cram everything we dream of into one package? The answer is yes, but it will cost you dearly and will take a veritable manhattan project of engineers to get the job done. The Veyron, warts in all, is a shining example of what's so damn good about the spirit of German engineering. It's because of the Germans and their lust to break down percieved barriers that we have luxury cars that can rocket you to the moon while at the same time massage your ass and take your temperature. I like that.

I think there is a reason why VW didnt let Konegisegg drive on VW testtrack. |
