![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | BMW and Audi drivers are a menace! BMW and Audi male drivers What is it about male BMW and Audi A4 and A6 drivers that makes them think that they can bully people on the road? Is it perhaps that such men are lacking in other departments and compensate by showing off their powerful engines? Yes, maybe some people might accuse me of being jealous or bitter seeing that I drive a (lovely) 1970s beetle, but that’s not it. I’m just angry, that’s what! Angry at people who pretend to own the road and think they can bully people and get away with it. I was driving along on a 80 km speed zone this morning and then the next thing I knew, this guy behind me was flickering bright lights at me indicating that I must move off the road and make way for him. I mean, who the heck does he think he is? I wouldn’t be this angry if this was happening for the first time, but it isn’t. Over the years, since I started driving in 2003, I’ve noticed that the most arrogant and inconsiderate drivers were men with BMWs and Audis. I mean, what is it with them?! And these days, it appears, the trend is not to put one’s vehicle number plates on, so one cannot even call the traffic department to complain. So you find yourself trying to adhere to the speed limit (like a good citizen), and then some dude -- who thinks he is the ‘I’ in ‘it’ – pushing you off the road so that he can feel like a real men and show off. There was a time when I thought this was happening to me because I drive a classic, which some people don’t have any appreciation for, and therefore get impatient, but it appears that’s not the case either. A friend of mine drives a Hyndai Getz and she says she also gets the same treatment and…wait for this… it’s always from men who driver either BMWs and Audis. I don’t want to go as far as to guess why such men behave this way but what I know is that real men don’t need to show off to feel good about themselves, nor do they need to ill-treat their fellow motorists to feel powerful. Real men are courteous, polite and have manners and the cars they drive don’t define them!!! - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |

I think our inherent superego gets the best of us males driving behind the wheel of... well, anything, it's not brand specific. I know I've gotten a little frisky behind the wheel at times when feeling pumped up by some good music, or maybe even a good look'n gal walking on the sidewalk. Now that I've grown up I no longer indulge in such behavior, because such things are so miniscule in the much broader scope of being behind the wheel, such as paying attention to the road. However since both BMW's and Audis tend to inspire higher levels of confidence when being driven, I get a real sense of where this type of bullish behavior comes from. Boy, SoCal drivers are going to have something to look forward to when I finally upgrade to a 3er. ![]() |

![]() | Re: BMW and Audi drivers are a menace! in that case i'm your typical BMW bastard , although my 318i is by no means powerull, but i tend to remain up that slow mover's rear end with the high beams flashing, until he wakes up from sleep and decides to move over. If he does not respond, then the honking starts, and not just any honk, the really anoying kind... ....but when you think of it, there is a reason why we BMW/ audi drivers do this. it's not because we're mean bullies, but it's because of you : the slow guy driving on the fast lane, or the idiot who has no bearings at all when he's on the road.... if I want to drive fast, that's my problem and not yours, you're at no obligation of slowing me down anyways, so move over to another lane where you should be in the first place. In other words: get out of my way and let me worry about the speed limit. To further illustrate my point should i be in the fast lane and see a car closing in at a high speed ( and after making sure that i he's packing more horses that my ride ) I move over without hesitation, why would I ruin his drive? therefore the real menace is you: the slow moving driver who holds up BMW and Audi people |

![]() | Re: BMW and Audi drivers are a menace! PS: I tend to be a little more docile when I'm behind the wheel of my mom's A4.... oh and one more thing, though, never lose your temper at these things, cause that's when things turn sour. and in the end it's just not worth it....happy motoring to all germancar lovers ![]() |

![]() | Re: BMW and Audi drivers are a menace! This article is just soooo BS. I've noticed that yes, your Bimmer and Audi drivers can scoot- but we are not 1/2 the problem of the dummy's (incl women) in their SUV's talking on their cell phones and eating while totally oblivious to the fact that they are actually driving. I'll take an aggressive BMW/Audi driver anyday over the disengaged and dangerous population motoring around in their behemoths. |
