Since i don't change my mind easily, it's easy for me. My vote goes to the 3er. As said before, I think that the 3 series is the most important german car and this is because:
1) It's beautiful
2) Good quality and engines considering its price
3) Its price. Its a great GC that many people can afford and with some good promotion, it will sell like hot cakes
4) Its the best looking BMW of the current lineup (No. 2 is the 7er - IMO)

That's why, IMO, it deserves the award.

But, even though i am a M5 fan, i didn't vote for it. ANd this is because the M5 is a great car, fast, with great engine/handling/etc, good looking and staff, but, except starring in some of my dreams, it doesn't play any other role in my life. I know that i can't afford it, and probably not in the future. If i could choose from any Bimmer ever made, i would choose the E39 M5, and the 7er from the current line up. That's it...

...but if we are to be absolutely honest here, there is one vehicle on the list that almost seems absurd to be compared with.

The Bugatti Veyron might not be everybody's favourite but it is the greatest automobile in the world today - it seriously seems crazy to even be comparing it with the others on the list. The Veyron is in a league of it's own.

Maybe your right maybe the veyron belongs in another poll along with the Zonda F and maybe some other Super Cars.

I still think it should be on the pole....which is afterall really a popularity contest more than anything......all I'm saying is that IMO, the the others are no match for the Veyron - including the Zonda F.

Not trying to incite any flaming here... but Roberto, can you outline why you think the Veyron is in a class of it's own ?
I'll admit it is an awesome car...but that's mainly because of one thing..and one thing only.. it's top speed. Ofcourse that's nothing to just sweep under the mat.. I mean, if it was that easy im sure many other car manufacturers would be having a shot at 400+ km/h speeds....but what im saying is, is there anything new..any innovations, any breakthroughs which have made this car so awesome and 'in a league of it's own', or is it simply because it does over 400 km/h and has neck-breaking acceleration figures ?

(Just wanting to get your reasoning as to why you think none of the other cars should be compared to the Veyron..because each car has it's own segment, and each of those segments has a certain standard or benchmark..and IMO, a car needs to not only meet its respective segment benchmark, but exceed it.

I think one question we might ask ourselves before choosing is what each car brought to its prospective market and how the nominees have dominated their segment. Because really each one is the most dominant in its class.

M5>E55 and STS V
330>IS350 and C320
S6>550 and E500
S8>760il
S class> 7 series and A8
CLS brought a whole new market
Zonda F> carrera GT and Mucielago
Veyron> any car out there.
Carrera S> M6 and Vantage

So yea their all class leading cars (s class is still being debated) and thats why their in the poll. Now which one has had the most beneficial impact on the automotive world.

Bugatti loses money on every Veyron they build. I cant vote on anything that was built to only show off
