"Yes, the Top Gear TV show needs your help. If you're genuinely in the market for a brand new £35,000 four-door saloon, we'd like to hear from you.

If you've got your heart set on an Audi S4 or A6, a BMW 335i or 5-Series, a Mercedes C350 or E-Class, a Jaguar S-Type or another saloon of that ilk for around 35 grand, we've got an interesting alternative in mind and we'd like to know what real customers make of it.

Top Gear's Clarkson pulled over for gay remark

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been criticised by the UK media watchdog for describing a car as "very ginger beer", rhyming slang for "queer".

In a written ruling, Ofcom said the phrase could offend homosexuals and should not have been used.

Clarkson used the phrase during a discussion with the studio audience about the rounded, two-seater Daihatsu Copen.

An audience member described the car as "gay" and Clarkson replied: "A bit gay, yes - very ginger beer".

The watchdog said "gay" can be used to mean "foolish, stupid and socially inappropriate, or disapproved of and lame".

But Clarkson's response made it clear he was using the word to refer to homosexual people, Ofcom said.

"This ... meant that the use of the word became capable of giving offence," Ofcom said. "In the context, there was no justification for using the word in this way."

Five viewers complained about the show, broadcast last July on BBC Two.
Ofcom said the BBC had reminded producers and presenters to avoid using derogatory comments about sexual orientation and the matter was resolved.

That article about the gay comment is ridiculous. People are offended way too easily.

I would take part in this, but I will doing exams that day, and somehow I don't think they will believe a 17 year is interested in a 35k sedan, shame!

thats gay part is just stupid.. ppl need to chill..
and watch the last ep of simpsons.. where they make fun of ppl that have nothing better to scan the media so that they can bitch on somebody entertaining the masses..or making a living for themselfs..
