I don't get that one Yannis. There is nothing about what he has done with BMW even remotely "American" in look or design.

I only said that he is American meaning that he may know better than others what US customers want in terms of design. I don't find anything wrong in that.
Audi for example hired Walter de Silva to give a more "Italian" look to the cars.

Re: Kelley Blue Book lists the brands with the best ‘Exterior Styling’

I think he just got lucky actually because I remember my first reaction to the 2002 7-Series, it wasn't favorable. The thing is when he debuted this new "style" of BMW they stood out and that is the key. No one is calling BMW's pretty, especially the 7 and 5-Series, but they do (especially the 7) get your attention.

I know a many many people that find 5er and facelifted 7er to be pretty. Just like I know many many people who dont find every MB to be pretty. Facelifted 7er is huge step up in design department, prefacelifted 7er makes me puke.

I'm sure you do, no surprise there. Pretty is not a word I'd used to describe many German cars, not just BMWs. The FL did help the 7, but the car is finished to my eye, too big and out of shape looking.

I'd say most German cars are handsome or merely good looking with a few exceptions like certain coupes and convertibles, but gernally "pretty" IMO is reserved for Aston Martins, Ferraris and the like. A BMW 7 or 5-Series definitely ain't even close to that in my book.

I agree that Audi, bmw and MB arent even close to Aston Martin, ferrari and alfa in terms of look. So that is not only for bmw. But Im certain there are people who doesnt like Alfas, aston and ferraris's too.
Im a little surprised you arent buying a Alfa since I know you prefer design over anything.

Didn't exactly say that.

We don't get Alfa-Romeo here, and just be clear design is important, but it isn't the sole factor in me liking a vehicle...it just gets the vehicle in question on the list to be considered (if I'm actually buying as opposed to just writing about cars here with you guys!).
