I agree but the C55 uses Automatic (despite having manual mode), no fun and controllable as a manual. also, easier doesnt mean its the most fun car to drive or the feeling is the same but most important of all, I would have beaten you

In some cases it does, especially for normal people who aren't very skilled and don't know how to handle a car with ESP turned off or power slide with a RUF RT12 in a tight bend.

If you ask me, power sliding is the epitome of fun on a track, people love it, which is why some manufacturers allow us to turn it off so that we can do just that.

Oh come on, you're sounding like a blind fanboy again.....LOL

Didn't you read about what I said about the M mode? You have complete control over the gear selection in the C55 and you can shift with buttons/paddles on the back of the steering wheel. It's like driving with SMG, except that the shifts are not as quick as the S6 mode of SMGII.

Although M mode is nice, there really isn't that much shifting that's required for short tracks. Only gears 2, 3, and 4 were used at my track event. Most of the time, I left the transmission in S (sport automatic) mode. AMG Speedshift is a "smart" performance tuned automatic transmission. After a few laps, the transmission knows you're pushing it. It actively downshifts under heavy braking, it then HOLDS the gear during corner entry and corner exit so there isn't the unwanted upshifts during a corner which could upset balance. It's not perfect, but good enough for a newbie driver like myself to catch the attention of some BMW M3 drivers......LOL.

You think you can't have fun in a C55? Let me tell you that you can have fun in almost any car that's capable of the acceleration and cornering ability of cars like the M3, C55, S4/RS4. Heck, you can even have fun in a Civic Si. On a track, you can do things at speeds which you could NEVER do on the streets.

and people whine on SMG for not being as fun as a manual so yes Im allowed to whine on an automatic. Please do me a favor, tell those who complain on SMG to be quiet

sure you can have fun in a C55, I have had lots of fun in a C43 AMG down to Golf GTi so I believe you, so dont try to tell my something I havent said

I still stand with what I said earlier, easier doesn't mean its the most fun car to drive. No fanboy talk, just the truth.

and I challenge you, I will beat you on any track even if I drive your C55 Welcome to Sweden!

Re: My second time at a track

haha.......for me, part of the great fun and pleasure that track day was being FASTER than some M3's. Who knows, maybe I may have gone even faster if I drove an M3!!
