Simplistic or not, ree's shot is absolutely wonderful. It's almost magical with perfect zoom and contrast; it surely falls among the best photos ever entered into our competitions

To me, it is so much more than 'a fallen apple'! Of course, that's what it is, but Ree managed to make the foreground kinda 'crisp' and the background blurs away nicely. It looks like a picture you would find in a fairy tale book (Snowwhite perhaps? )

Thanks El Zorro! While undoubtely stiff competition, I am still unhappy with my entry. Can't wait till next weeks comp though; I've got an interesting photo which I very look forward to entering.
