MB Classic Center Just got back from a family vacation in Southern Cal and stopped in at the MB Classic Center in Irvine. Nice facility with some nice older MBs. Saw the 600 used in 'X-men 3' as well as a nice 6.9 and a couple of 3.5s convertibles. One of the reps told me that the W123s are now considered classics as well as the 450SL/SLCs.

Re: MB Classic Center Cool! Did you take any pictures? Yea, that 600 in X-Men III was awesome. You noticed how MB tried to make a connection between it and the Maybach 62 by using it 30 years ( or was it 20??) later. Kinda cool if you ask me ![]()

Re: MB Classic Center No I was unable to take photos as I got there 30 minutes after they closed and I was kindly allowed in by Woodie, the parts manager. He brought me out back where I saw the 600 in a special, restricted restoration room. He let me peak in and then shut the door. I did see a couple 3.5 convertibles, a 6.9, 300D, 450SEL, 450SL, and some 280SL (one which was already sold at $79K!). He said that this year the W123s and R107 SLs have received "historic" recognition from DCX. So now I guess I own two classics until Porsche does the same for the 993 911s.
