I can say, that your home town looks great both in celebration, and in every-day life. But, i would like to see some pics of the real city, traffic, roads with people and shops, etc.

i wish Patras looked as good as this. It's the cultural capital of 2006 and looks disgusting.

PS. It never snowed where i live. At least not in the 21 or 20 century...
First: thanks for the compliments. Yes, it's nice to live here - in a way. But living in a small country is quite expensive, and infrastructure is limited. Nevertheless forigners coming to live here from the Western countries love it due the quietness and its beauty.

Second: I'll try to find most representative images of everyday life, and posted links here - for you to see a daily beat of Ljubljana.

Third: Ljubljana was a Cultural Capital of europe in 1997

Fourth: Snow in the city is anything but a joy for adults. Lot of troubles. Huge traffic jams, accidents, icy roads & pavements, you need to remove all the snow from your driveways, frontyards, etc. But children enjoy it very much.

Indeed.
The pic was taken in the Fall, when the trees become multicoloured, and the river turnes its colour to green-brownish (Fall) from light green (Summer). In the Spring it's deep green, and green-grayish in the Winter. Don't ask me why - you should ask biologists instead.

Re: My home town in the Winter

Actually, you are right about snow. It may not snow here, but in the first week of the year, i went with some friends a trip to the mountens. Well, it snowed everyday there. It was fun, since we stayed in a village all the days and didn't have to use a car. But when it came to reaching/leaving the village with the car, my friend who was driving had a hard time trying to reach his destination alive. (the car was a Opel Astra).

But if i could switch cities and move to Ljubljana i wouldn't do that. Even though Patras sucks, i still like it. It has the perfect climate for me and i can find anything i want here. It is big enough for me but not so big that would make the living hell. I tried to stay in Athens for more than 3 days and it was very difficult for me (Athens: 3.000.000 pop.) I bought a house recently, which is located in the suburbs in a great location. Going to the marina for a walk and a coffee, takes me 3.5 minutes, and walking to the city centre 25 mins. (i walk really fast). From the balcony i have great view. Mountain and sea...
