Are you sure about that Yannis?
I don't think Audi need a 4 door coupé. They have the A6 and A8, almost the same size. Why make another one?
They sure need a big coupé though.

From what i have heard , Audi wants to take sales from the CLS and they already have the R8 which can take on M6 and CL65 , so A7 is going to be a four door coupe.
I 'm not saying that i agree with the decision or not , i 'm only saying what sources indicate.

I, for myself, remain rather sceptical as to whether an Audi A7 will ever come into fruition. However, I could very easily envisage the current A6s´ successor being a very coupe-like 4 door sedan. As similarly rakish as the Mercedes-Benz CLS or the Jaguar C-XF concept.

With Dr. Martin Winterkorn now calling the shots (heavily influenced by Dr. Ferdinand Piech), it is highly probable that the VW Phaeton will find a successor albeit under another nomenclature. Yet is has been recently speculated that the future Phaeton (or whatever it may be named) will be a somewhat smaller and simpler automobile, based on Audis´ new MLB (A4 thru A8) underpinnings. In character, it may be more of a traditional 4 door sub-luxobarge sedan, appealing to the more conservative private consumer as well as European fleet operators. It may partially fill a role that the current A6 now occupies. That car may be accompanied by a Mercedes-Benz R-Class type of derivative. The upcoming new A4 is due to grow considerably, which may make it very attractive to current A6 customers in its´ sedan and Avant forms. This could pave the way for a far more rakish and flamboyant A6 coupe-like sedan as well as a decidedly tres chic lifestylish and sleek A6 Avant. Perhaps just a smidgen larger than the current A6 (say L 4.950 m/W 1.880m/H 1.385m), it could fit nicely between the A8s´ successor (which will allegedly grow to over 5.100m in length and 1.900m in width) and the enigmatic maybe yes maybe no Passat-based 4 door VW coupe.

Who knows...
Maybe Audi will finally attempt to challenge M-Bs´ CL series with a large traditional A8-based 2 door coupe + softtop convertible. With the new 6.0 V12 diesel under its´ hood (500+ HP/1000+ Nm). Now that could be one hell of a flagship for Audi. And still in relatively safe distance from the Bentley Contis.

I knew I wasn't crazy, I was pretty sure the A7 was a 4 door! If it was a coupe it would be the biggest coupe we ever saw, I've heard time and time again it's suppose to fit between the A6 and A8.
