As "existing customer" I can swap one of my current phones and only add $20 to the cost of my plan for the unlimited data feature which I do not have now.

No standing in line though for me...I'll just order online from the Apple Store and have it FedEx'd to me.

^yeah check the initiall reviews first.. that would be my suggestion..
im glad that europe gets it abit later..in that way we can see whats wrong with it..and apple can hopefully fix it until then

The Artist

This is what the Iphone does not have.. everything else is super..

• Songs as Ringtones ( sucks alot..but review says will be fixxed as its probabl y a licence issue)
• Games ( dont really care)
• Any flash support ( Sucks alot, but at the same time no other phone has it either..and i hope they fix it .. )
• Instant Messaging ( dont care)
• Picture messages (MMS) ( dont care)
• Video recording ( lol dont care at all)
• Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE) ( dont care at all as i dont pay for my music..lol)

Stuff we already knew it didn't have
• 3G (EV-DO/HSDPA) ( sucks alot..i hope it has that when it comes to europe)
• GPS ( Meh.. is it really needed for walking around when you have google maps.. ??.. dont tell me your was planning on using it as your car navi)
• A real keyboard ( according to reviewers it works gr8.. and im used to virtual keeboards as my last 3 phones have been the touchscreen P serie of SE)
• Removable battery ( depends on the life of the battery and if it costs to get replaced.. time will tell)
• Expandable Storage (8gig??.. does one need more ?? .. i remember i had less than 8 gig on my PC a while ago.. i have 256mb on the P990 and i dont feel the need to expand..allthough Memeory sticks are super cheap)

So for me personally this phone is gr8.. i will most likely get it..
I just hope it gets 3G when it hits Europe..
And i hope they wont be able to find a deal with a carrier for all of europe..and therefore will be forced to release it witout a contract:.

* The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device's capacity. ( Wow..thats alot.. but still not an issue)

* On a PC the iPhone syncs with Outlook for calendars AND addresses! ( HoT)

* Pogue again confirms document file reading -- but not editing -- for PDF, Word, and Excel.

* Adobe Flash support is officially out. It's just not in the browser. Sorry everybody, that's that. ( i hope they work out a deal with adobe)

* No voice dialing ( lol it sucks anyways..so im actually glad it doesent have it)

* Apple sez between 300-400 charges the iPhone will lose battery capacity -- you'll send it in and get the cell replaced for a fee. (hmm loose battery capacity and die is 2 diffrent things..so i expect it to run for more than that..
and i wonder what that fee is..)

# Apple can (and supposedly will) be rolling out periodic updates -- no surprise there. ( this is one of things that makes it diffrent from other phones)

# Battery life is, somehow, almost as mind-blowingly good as Apple claims for calls, music, and movies. ( superb)

# It's said to be very scratch resistant. The facade both front and rear apparently just doesn't pick up marring like regular iPods do. ( Thats GR8)

• One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones) THIS IS CRAP
now i really hope that the headphones i plan to buy fits..cause i dont want no fat adapter making the phone larger...

Artist - Based on those reviews you posted it looks like the iPhone delivers where it counts - enough so to sell me early on this phone. Of course... if I knew when a 3G model would be rolling out maybe I'd change my tune.

What's really cool is how Apple is activiating the phones via iTunes. That's awesome! Only if they'd let me eliminate my T-Mobile contract via iTunes as well!

Some things that Artist didn't include:

- There's no way to cut, copy, or paste text! WHOA! Big, big mistake.
- No A2DP support. That, friends, is such a huge bummer right there.
- Oh, and no MMS. And sorry, no voice dialing, either.
- Contact groups can't be emailed as contact lists.
- Voice Quality very average
- No way to search contact list, can only scroll up and down
- Yahoo takes 2 minutes to load on EDGE.

On the up shot:
- Supposedly supports MS Exchange in some way, and its understood that Apple have licensed Direct Push in some way shape or form, and will release an update for it.
- Alot of reliance is placed on the dictionary to correct the words when fat fingers try use the keyboard.
- Supposedly the UI is very good, although for the most part this was expected.

I'm somewhat sceptical about the reviews, however, Apple lifted the press embargo for particularly writers... seems sneakingly suspicious doesn't it?

Oh well, lets hear from other reviewers after release.
