I bought this phone last week:

Nokia 6131. It is cheap (270 euro only) ,relatively small and has one of the best screens on the market.

I got a Samsung phone two or three months ago (forget which model - it's basically Samsung's answer to the RAZR) and couldn't be happier. The screen is second to none, the software is rock-solid and snappy, and the overall feel and finish of the phone is excellent.

It's funny - I remember a thread less than two years ago where Samsung was being hailed as the "new Sony" and I balked, saying that I'd always look down on the Samsung name.

Once again, eating my words…

Luw Motorola's UI is by far the worse in the industry and that's the reason i will never buy one. I advice you to do the same.

I got a K800i in the end. One of the cheapest 3G phones in the market.

I owned a motorola a couple of years ago and boy was that phone crappy. The later years their phones have improved but the UI is still not a par with SE phones.

After owing several phones for the last 2-3 years i would say that in terms of UI Nokia is still the leader with Samsung a close second, SE is a distand third for me. I had to sell a K750 rightaway due to several software problems.

How do you like your K800i so far James? Even though I love my K750i, it keeps crashing everytime I try send anything to my computer via infrared. If I talk a lot on it, it crashes and when I restart it, I get no reception.
I don't think I'll be buying another SE anytime soon.

Couldn't agree more. My wife just got a Motorola RAZR and I was shocked to find how primitive and dumpy the UI was. For all the world, it looks a good 3 or 4 years old.

Here's the phone I got. Couldn't be happier: (Cost me only $50 after rebate)
