![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mini review on the Motorola Slvr I realized that I was hijacking someone elses thread to post my phone pictures. So I pulled them and started this thread so that some of you can see. My apologies unprofessional photographs. My initial thoughts: The phone in reference to its size is incredible. It fits my hand very well and the key pad takes a little getting used to (nothing to dramatic). The size of the phone enables you to put it in your pocket without suffering any bulkiness. You will notice, though, that it is rather light which could contribue to someone dropping it. It really makes you realize how far technology has come in incorporating so many features into such a small surface area. Battery life for the phone is still being tested by me. I am simply not charging it and am going to see how long it can last without charging it. I am not sure if this is a valid "battery test", but I will definitely tell you guys how it turns out. So far I have been using the phone for 24hours without charging and I have 2 out of the 3 bars left. So it is doing pretty well. It should be noted, however, that the battery is brand new, and through time batteries for cell phone detiriorate in how well they keep charge. The service is good, and haven't had any dropped calls or anything out of the ordinary. Nevertheless, I am sure this is a difficult thing to rule out on any phone considering that it depends on your carrier, where you are, and how the phone itself processes signals. The camera and video camera are not features for which I bought the phone for but they don't work to bad. However, the slow shutter speed and the lack of a true good digi camera should not overlook the fact that you have a device that can still capture photography and is so small. The one thing that bothers me, and is taking a little while to get used to is the side buttons on either side of the phone. There are a total of 4 buttons, two of which can be considerd 1 since they are the volume buttons. The other two are for bluetooth and the camera. Accesing them, for me, is a little difficult becuase they do have a rough, "grippy", or a protuding surface but you will have difficulty finding it them and executing a trustworthy "push." Sometimes I am not sure if I am pushing the button at all. Overall I like the phone and paid 195 US. Please let me know what you thought about what I had to say, the phone, and if you would consider buying this phone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Michael; 05-16-2006 at 10:48 AM. |

![]() | Re: Mini review on the Motorola Slvr I must admit, it is a great looking phone, and congratulations on your new purchase. But. It's not my kind of phone. For one thing, it's not a clamshell design. Oh, and it's a Motorola. ![]() |

![]() ![]() | Re: Bought the Slvr I'm thinking about getting this phone since my other one took a trip in the washer the other day. Hopefully I can get a deal on it when my contract with Verizon runs out. |

The Samsung SGH-P300, its a beauty, probablly one of the smallest phones out there, I dont know if thats good or bad. CNET gave it a good review << - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER>> and Mobile-reviews.com's << - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER>> with lots of photos ![]() ![]() ![]() |

However, after finding out the camera was just a VGA, I backed off. Nonetheless, I love the keypad and the overall quality of it. Motorola has hit a homerun with the V3, they would probably do the same for this. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bought the Slvr Hey - glad to see this topic popped up. I spent a brief amount of time last weekend shopping for cel phones and walked away dissatisfied. The RAZR is being pushed really hard, but I don't care for clamshell phones and I've heard some grumblings from coworkers about its form factor and structural fragility. That Samsung looks awesome! I love the retro cauculator look, and if it uses their latest generation of OLED displays I'm sure images look spectacular. How much, and where can I get it? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bought the Slvr Ok, I just checked Ebay. Pretty pricey, but I'm really turned on by the calculator look. Still leaning twoards the SLVR, although it's still alot to pay just for the convience of having a non-clamshell phone. Thing is - I'm reading more and more news about how Apple is planning on releasing its own phone under the Apple name in about 1 year's time. If that's true I'll be the first guy in line, cash in hand. So perhaps I should just take whatever's cheap out there that gets me by. I don't talk much on my cel to begin with. |
