visiting: Dealer II (new C-Class, Designo S63 , E63 , SL55)

After the Mercedes dealer visit of cawimmer and The Artist, I went to our dealer today.

I really like the exterior design of the new C-Class, but I was extremely disappointed by the interior quality. Also the version with leather feels cheap and doesn't conform to Mercedes standard.
I also dislike the steering wheels - it's to big, in my opinion.

The quality of my pictures isn't that good - I forget to photograph with flash.

G 500

S 63 AMG (this is the best looking S-Class I've ever seen...Desgino Maritiusblue )

CL 63 AMG (no close up view - sorry)

CLS Desgino (Why I wouldn't go for 'porcelain' coloured leather seats...)

Re: visiting: Dealer II (new C-Class, Designo S63 , E63 , SL55)

Sadly, the blue S 63 was locked...but the interior is designo leather. Through the windows it looks like "normal" anthracite leather - but the information on the car said "exclusive grafit". I don't take more pictures of that car...I hope the dealer will reorganize the places of the cars so that the S 63 will get another place, where I can take better shots.

The showroom of this dealer is always extremely well equipped - remind the SLK Black Series, the CLK DTM or the CL "Launch Edition" I photographed at last!
I also hope that our dealer will get an AMG that isn't coloured in designo graphit - because so is the SL and the E.

At the moment I don't plan to testdrive the C-Class...

Thanks heaps for the photos mate, i didn't know you can order the S63 in long wheelbase version. The colour of it is definitely very interesting, but i think the car needs bigger wheels to match the colour.

So what is so disappointing with the new C-class interior?

Re: visiting: Dealer II (new C-Class, Designo S63 , E63 , SL55)

The materials of the dashboard is comparable to the one, the SLK has. But the haptic is extremely bad - it isn't really plastic but it also doesn't feel to me like a high quality material.
Also the centre console is dominated by plastic. It feels better then the dashboard, but it isn't great, too.

I would really like to have some more aluminium details, like the instrument panel.

I was also shocked by the price of the new C-Class. There was a C280 that costs around 52.000 € (and it wasn't fully loaded) - you can also get an E280 for that price!

The build quality isn't in contrast to that bad at all, but I went to the dealer with a certain expectation...

Nevertheless there is something positive to mention. The exterior looks very good and I was really impressed by the integration of the new "multimedia system".
