![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mercedes-Benz Quiz # 2 ANSWERS 1) Stromlinie is the correct answer. The other possible choices were all made up by Wimmer. The correct answer is *C* 2) Mercedes was the daughter of Emil Jellinek, one of Daimler's most loyal and enthusiastic customers. Hence the answer is *C*. 3) The W114/W115 range had no 190D variant. The entry level model was the 200D. Although both the 200D and 220D were extensively used as taxis, the 200D was by far the most popular taxi in Europe. Hence the answer is *B*. 4) This question was tricky. Upon reading the names, you realize that Nibel and Uhlenhaut are famous people who worked at Mercedes. You might wonder what Ferdinand Porsche or Erwin Rommel are doing on the list. Erwin Rommel was a German Field Marshall and had nothing to do with Daimler-Benz. A little known fact is that Ferdinand Porsche, before becoming independant, worked at Daimler-Benz. Thus, the logic to this question is that the first three names had something to do with Mercedes while the last one didn't. Thus, Erwin Rommel (*D*) does not belong. 5) TRUE. A European R107 500SL developed 240, 231 or 245-horsepower depending on model year and upwards of 400 Nm of torque while the US-spec 560SL developed 231-horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The European 500SL was thus faster to 100 km/h and enjoyed better fuel economy. In top speed, the 560SL ran out of breath at 208 km/h while the 500SL soldiered on until 225 km/h. The correct answer is *A*. STANDINGS (points): Gullwing: 5 MikeJ: 4 The Artist: 4 Ree: 3 Rev8000: 3 7.3 AMG: 2 Round 2! 1) Which of the following is correct? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Mercedes-Benz Quiz # 2 I figured that you tried to trick us with the Rommel; he was such an obvious choice that I thought they'd put him in charge of Mercedes for a short period of time during the war or something.
