Luxury boats

For the world's obscenely wealthy, cars and jets are just means of transport. When they really want to indulge their fantasies, they commission a large motor yacht, a Superyacht.

- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER is a German ship builder, they build massive 'toys' for the worlds richest individuals ...so enough with the words, here are the pictures.

The Dutch ship builder - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER is also one of the best in the world.

Wedge Too
This beautiful private ship was entirely designed by the very famous French interior designer Philippe Stark.

Re: Luxury boats

Those Wally boats are so damn gorgeous. There probably won't be too long before they launch a Versace edition with medusa heads every where.
Anyhow here you have Al Salamah which a 139m long yatch. The owner is none other then prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia.

As you can see it is very very big. Price? Probably a few 100 million dollars.

Re: Luxury boats

You know why these Wally-Yachts have this completely orderly deck layout?
It is because the Wally-founder love to sail shoeless! He doesn't want to hurt himself on leashes or edges...

Great sailboats. I really love the design...

You could always try to repair the broken Picasso painting and sell it at a discounted price.

450SEL6.9 will become famous soon enough
Re: Luxury boats

Hmm, how did I know that Rob will start a thread like this sooner or later?

Anyway, Luwalira, Al Salamah was originally codenamed "Mipos" by its shipbuilder. The Saudis wanted it built so quickly that the shipyard, Lurssen I believe, called it Misson Impossible or Mipos.

Some of these yachts have their own submarines! I'm not sure how it would work though. One article I read claimed that the subs themselves cost £10 million to construct and build into the yacht.

A few of the yachts supposedly have anti-missile defence systems. Again, I think it's all James Bond fiction. I think it's unlikely that a private yacht, regardless of how rich its owner is, could have such advanced infrared systems. Where would they get that technology from? What defence contractor would license it to a privately-owned, civilian ship.

I saw one picture of a megayacht where the caption read that a member of the crew was cleaning the covers for some missile intercepting rockets. Who would sell them those interceptor missiles?
