BTW, I think if Lexus toned down the that outrageous side air scoop (or whatever that is) and changed the rear exhausts, it wouldn't be that bad looking. As it is, the front is ok, but the side and rear views just make me wonder what they were thinking. It doesn't look sporty or elegant to me either. I just can't help but think of R I C E when I look at those areas.

No offense.
No offense taken

I have no problems with the front end, or the rear end for that matter. However I'm a little unsure of that strange air scoop..

We have the same dislike of that thing. To me, it just ruins the flow of the design. I'm not crazy about the Lexus IS, but in IS-F form, it could have been quite a looker - until that air scoop showed up.

Same here... I though I'd be able to diges it afer a few days, but it still doesn't seem to fit with the car. I agree with Christian that it looks more ricey than sporty or luxurious.

I really like it- not to sure about the 8-speed transmission. It's nice though for the first Lexus to compete with M and AMG. Oh and those exhausts are great!

Re: Official: performance car from Lexus IS-F

Well, i have many positive things to say about this car. I can say that i actually like it!

1. It looks very bad-ass and it has a unique character, something you can't find easily in any car! Now, whether you like it or not, it is another story.

2. It has many many cool features, like the kinda strange exhaust tips, the side air vent and the hood

3. The interior is also very nice. I didn't expect sth as nice as this one from Lexus. They improved ages over their previous ones.

4. About the mechanical stuff, the 8 speed gearbog must be a really cool feature, but i would expect it to be more powerfull.

Now, if this is a threat to the germans? The answer is NO. Each one has a totally different philosophy and target group. The only thing that is sure is that this car definitely boost up the competiotion, and we will get to see many great cars in the near future!

Re: Official: performance car from Lexus IS-F

I'm a little bit surprised. I think that Toyota has biffed it and is introducing a car that feels ricey. As it's presented right now, I don't see the "F" brand blossoming into a aspirational luxury brand like BMW M or AMG.

I definitely like the idea of Lexus entering the luxury in-house tuning game, but I don't think they're plaing their best hand here. The suprmacy of the M3 franchise looks to continue unabated.

Re: Official: performance car from Lexus IS-F

I dont really think it looks that 'ricey'. OK, they may have gone a little overboard, but I think it will look alot better in real. This is the first Lexus- F car, they want to make it unique.
