Hondas Max NSX New Supercar? Max NSX Honda’s flagship NSX-R sports car gets a race car treatment and a price tag to match. Due to the considerable changes to this year’s Japan Grand Touring Championship GT-500 NSX race car, Honda had to build five homologation NSX-R GT road cars to satisfy rules set by the governing body. A cool ¥50 million ($466,600) is the price tag for this full carbon fiber-bodied road car, which features longer front and rear fascias and an F1-style scoop to direct air to the mid-mounted V6 engine. Production starts in August and, sorry, all five cars are already spoken for. —DINO DALLE CARBONARE

Re: Hondas Max NSX looks great but idk how well this thing will do compared to ferraris and lambos wit a v6 but i guess having full carbon body is a advantage i would take a mercilago for half the price and more presige than a honda

Re: Hondas Max NSX The five people that bought the car must not care much about prestige or know a secret, because the only one's made are already sold out!

Re: Hondas Max NSX Well, I suppose in Japan the NSX is more well known and regarded than elsewhere. Plus, are you kidding? Factory modified cars aren't exactly rare, and this isn't a "special edition" with different wheels and some stickers. With only 5 examples built, I dare say they'd almost appreciate overnight. I would say that, hopefully without resorting to stereotypes, that Japanese are often avid collectors.

Re: Hondas Max NSX I saw this car ages ago! To me it's well over priced, it has no engine upgrades, and that engine cooler spoiler thing don't even have a function! I think it may be a bit lighter though, but not worth the extra money!

Re: Hondas Max NSX The point of the car was not to make it good value. It wasn't even to improve the performance (for the record, I don't think the race car has the same V6 engine any more). The point of the car is to satisfy the homologation rules for the bodywork for the JGTC racing series.

Re: Hondas Max NSX I really respect the NSX i`ve never seen 1 in real life (we dont get them here) but i`ve read alot about it, like Alx said its a great platform and its Japans Ferrari. The price is high but hey all these championship race cars have these kind of price tags, plus there are only 5 of them and all sold out. Cant wait for the next generation of the NSX, should be a great supercar.

| Re: Hondas Max NSX Emarati, its unfortunate you never saw one in person, it is a very sexy car, small compartment and very fast! Sounds great too. I would think in your region you might find one or two.
