To tell you the truth, to of my friends have a Toyota Corolla, one of them a brand new one. May i remind you that me and my friends are 27 years old.

It may not be the most beautiful car out there, but it is known for great reliability. The other one, has an older one, back from 1991, it used to be his fathers, and has no major problems with it. Actually no problems at all, while my 16 years old Renault Clio is parked i-don't-know-where after a leak in the cooling system which left the car without cooling at all!

As i said in a previous post, the Corolla design, is something that would match every possible owner. From a 18 years old univercity student, to a 150 years old woman..

Regarding the possible copy of the SatNAv buttons/layout, there must be hundreds of them in the market, and it is absolutely impossible that all look different!

Well, don't you remember the numerous Kia Rio threads we had back in the GCF forums? Those were the times...

I should clarify Giannis. My comments were directed twoards the Toyota Corolla in the US. In Europe, the Corolla name is still relatively fresh, and free of all the negative, dull connotations it carries in the states.

Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures

Like Ojis said, surely it's not copying to have rows of small squarish buttons on each side of a screen? Hey, they could have rounded ones or square ones, guess they had a 50/50 chance of copying. Oh wait, how about dodecahedral buttons..

Anyhow, I think the Corolla's been around here pretty long, too. Like Giannis said, it's a little conservative, but it's also a pretty 'everyperson' sort of a car. Sure, it's not 'youth' or 'edgy' like a Civic could be (but isn't, if we're talking the sedan); nor is it a performance car like a WRX or even a psuedo performance car. But it's good enough for many.

Re: 2007 Toyota Corolla – Leaked Brochure pictures

Well, I'm not saying they're copying, but the overall effect is a bit Jetta-ish. I think it's having something made primarily as a hatchback and then turned into a sedan. Same with the Yaris hatch/sedan, of which this looks like a bigger version.

That last pic of the wagon in "Styling Package ver.A" isn't bad. Bigger wheels, lighter colour and the bodykit help reduce the overall 'floaty' effect.
