Lexus LF-A Production Version Supercar (Spy pics & info)

Media outlets in Japan are reporting Toyota brass have secretly greenlighted the Lexus LF-A concept for production. According to reports, the new supercar will drop in late 2008 at a price of around $170,000, with a strong tie-in to Formula One racing, as Toyota is angling to bring the Japanese F1 Grand Prix to its own Fuji Speedway. Edmunds Inside Line questions whether the production LF-A will retain the concept’s V10, or will adopt a V8 to coincide with new F1 regulations, or whether Honda’s V10-powered NSX, due for 2009, will lead the company to leave the concept’s 5.0-liter powerplant status quo. Yes, but will there be a hybrid?

hmm that pic looks very ugly..
other than that i would never pay that kind of money for a lexus..

Well, it's a very futuristic car, I like the interior but the exterior doesn't look like supercar. Though it's designed by very appreciated designer Leonardo Fioravanti (ex Ferrari designer, made Daytona, Dino, 308/328GTB, 288GTO, Berlinetta Boxer and Testarossa)...

i think in person it will look wicked, and to have a daily driver relaible supercar, i think its worth the money....

Dont forget people want to drive supercars not just look at them in the garage... Like me for instance... This seems ideal, if the power is what its cut out too be... watch out

I think the interior and cluster is crazy!!!! The rear needs work.. other than that i like it.

Hmm...nice to see that Lex is finally giving us a super car to dream about but am I going to dream about this LF-A? No I'm not. I don't think it's pretty at all, its far from as well designed as the Audi R8(or is it called R9?). Hopefully the production car will be very toned down and better looking.

To be selling at a price equal with Ferrari F430s and Lamborghini Gallardos, this car needs to be amazing in every respect. The Lexus brand is not strong enough on its own for such a high asking price.

I beleive the same thing but remember that it's pretty early to tell what the car is going to cost and lots of the info which is out is purely speculation. Therefore I don't beleive that it will cost that much.
