![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Subaru Impreza STI Speculations Well actually, judging the latest version of the Impreza against an EVO is incorrect. We know nothing about the new 5 door STI. What we do know is that the new Impreza - despite the usual "what the fark have Subaru done now?" criticism is going to be a mechanically superb car - as all Subarus are and a significant improvement in all aspects over its fine predecessor. Remember, Mitsu have one halo model sports saloon: the EVO. If you want a lesser version then you'll have to make do with an unexceptional 2 wheel drive Corolla competitor. That drives like a Toyota... With an Impreza, you can get a WRX for Golf money, and even lesser powered models and they all come standard with Subaru's symmetrical AWD. The same can't be said for the EVO. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Subaru Impreza STI Speculations Yea, I agree that's the excellence of Impreza. Mechanical stuff also. But exterior is as much important as other things when you know many young that are potential buyers of cars this class are taking design as big factor. And now not that Subaru just changed the look of the car by giving it new lights, lines etc. but turned Impreza into something different than previous generations, into something Impreza isn't and shouldn't be. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Subaru Impreza STI Speculations I hear you and agree with you Dom - to a certain extent. But, times change and so do car models; with that, people need to move on. Subaru's Impreza was never a volume seller compared with the likes of VW, Toyota, Nissan and Renault for example. More so, the old 5 door Sportwagon completely failed to capture the imagination of either the mass-market or serious Subaru fan. With this hatchback Impreza, Subaru's market penetration will be more successful. Wait and see... |
