Personally, I don't find the house appealing. I find its design somewhat boring. Every room looks the same with stone floors, concrete walls, and wooden ceilings. The bare/exposed concrete walls make the place feel especially cold and lifeless. It reminds me a ski lodge or something of that nature. The view and pool are nice though.

Well I like it Hassan - you have very sophisticated taste. Do you know where it is situated and who the architect is?

While we are on the subject, I saw this house for sale a couple of years ago - it's on the English Channel island of Jersey (which is actually a lot closer to France than England) - I really like the gardens.

Re: Coolest home ever?

That's some very majestic residents you are showing Rob. The ocean front mansion is very Victorian and the owner probably an aristocrat living of residues. I'm sure there are some Faberge egg stached in a mahogany cabinet somewhere . The garden and orchid are very nice and might even be more spectacular than the house itself.

Although the house is very exquisite the interior design doesn't suit my taste adn neither does the interior of the house i posted earlier. I beleive that interior is very important and that it is what makes a house a home. Below here is my type of interior and what you are looking at is an NY appartment that belongs to an architect. I love cold colours and steril objects, though I do beleive that there should be some warm colours somewhere in the home.

This house below is a typical exampel of the ideal home for me. Great design, ocean view and large glas windows. The owner also has some really expensive furniture.

Luwalira, aren't those pictures of people's houses from M5board?

Here is a house I really like in New York City, plus it's for sale for only $7.8 million!

There are some cool bedrooms in this link, especially considering they are hotel rooms.

This website also some cool houses, too many to list.

Re: Coolest home ever?

That futuristic house is really not my taste. I like that Channel Islands property better. If memory serves me correctly, I think it was listed by Knight Frank a few years ago at over 10 million pounds.

Personally, I've always liked old colonial-style houses. Growing up in Hong Kong, there were many of them around on the ultra posh Peak district. They were owned by the British companies like Standard Chartered, Jardines and the Hongkong Bank. Here's a few traditional and newer design properties in HK. Some of them look interesting, but you can decide if they're attractive or not. The only important point is that someone thought they were each attractive enough to spend millions constructing.

I think that chateau is particularly remarkable in a land scarce city like Hong Kong. That house is located on The Peak, one of the most expensive districts in the world. It must be worth $30, 40 million US dollars for perhaps one-acre of property! Of course, it's possible the owners purchased the lot for a few hundred thousand dollars during the 1970s before land prices shot up.
